The operation team also communicated very well, ensuring a seamless process that was both efficient and stress-free. Moreover, the pricing was very reasonable compared to other quotes I received. "I highly recommend Thundercolt Electric. Gerardo came out, provided a bid and when I advised I was ready to get started they quickly got started on the project which included recessed lighting, new electrical outlets and switches, changing out electrical outlets and light switches, installing a surge protector for the home, installation of ceiling fans and a ring doorbell. Thunderbolt did an excellent job and I would hire them again for any work I may have and Iâ d recommend them to family and friends."

"Mr. Electric was extremely helpful and knowledgeable with the needs for our business. We needed to update our electrical systems since we kept having outlets go out and power go out in various areas of the office. Mr. Electric was prompt, knowledgeable, and able to resolve all of our issues on their first visit to our office. The prices were reasonable as well, especially considering the amount of work that was done and the level of professionalism they have! I will definitely contact them again with any of our electrical needs."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Replacing your electrical meter box is critical because it helps prevent damage to your home’s electrical system or possible safety hazards. Plus, you won’t have to deal with frequent power tripping, flickering lights, or the scorched scents that an old or damaged meter box may cause.

Yes, many remodels include electrical upgrades for lighting, outlets, or charging stations. Confirm with your contractor.

When converting a standard 120-volt outlet to a 240-volt outlet, the only components you can typically reuse are the existing electrical box and the hole in the wall. Everything else—including the wiring, breaker, and receptacle—should be replaced to ensure both safety and efficiency. Appliances designed for 240 volts have different plug configurations that won’t fit into a standard 120-volt outlet, making it necessary to install a compatible 240-volt receptacle. This design helps prevent overloading or underloading the power available to any one outlet or circuit.

In addition to grounding your outlets, you may want to hire an electrician for the following:

These additional electrical services ensure that your home’s electrical system is in working order and will accommodate your ground outlets.

The Occupational Safety and Home Administration (OSHA) requires an electrical panel to have a minimum of three feet (36 inches) of room from the front of the panel to the closest obstacle. In this case, the word obstacle refers to nearly everything, including walls, machines, and other fixed objects. Additionally, panels require at least 6½ feet of headroom in the area directly in front of the fixture. These requirements help ensure safe use of the panel and allow electricians plenty of room to work.
