MGI Granite in Business since 2006 in Bulverde, Tx but in the stone industry 25 Years of experience. our goal is to completely satisfy all your needs in the Granite, Marble, Wood Floor installation areas, we work with you and for you to get always the best deal for both Customer and Company, delivering the best product and the best quality workmanship to make your dreams come true in a time and easy way so you can enjoy the process and the final products.

"Avoid... They don’t stand behind their work. Won’t fix their mistakes. First off, they did not tape anything off or cover my carpets. Dust got everywhere. I have to pay someone now to hopefully restore my carpets and will have to steam clean my tile. They put wood shins that rest on top of the cabinets directly under the granite. Because of the length of my counters they had to put 2 seams, which turned out horribly. Good seams should be not that noticeable. Obviously, they have to be there but they are not correct or professional by any means the way that MGI did them. The seams have jagged edges like they were not cut properly and the head installer in the end said he “liked” the seams, which reflects the quality (or lack of) of their work. They didn’t attach or mount my dishwasher to the underside of the granite so now it moves when I open and close it. After they left initially, my oven (my oven will now turn on but will not heat) and dishwasher wouldn’t turn on. And the dishwasher leaked from the supply line. We had to use stern language with Ali to make him come back to fix the stuff that stopped working after his install. They messed with the seams when they came back but they are still not correct. They didn’t wipe up all the epoxy so now the edge is rough at both seams. Everyone I’ve showed this to and spoken to said that this needs to be redone (rip out and replace the counters where the seams are) or the seams need blended and polished until they look right at the cost of MGI. We paid him in full since they worked all day to finish the job and now they won’t do us the same courtesy of fixing their mistakes. Sloppy, substandard and unprofessional. Don’t let their pictures fool you (they are not close up shots). I could mention other issues with the install as well..... Use these guys if you want a granite contractor who won’t work to satisfy you after you PAY them!"

FAQs for ceramic tile service projects in San Antonio, TX

The average cost of installing tile is around $2,000, ranging between $400 and $6,500, depending on the type of tile, square footage of tile, and whether or not your tiling contractor performs site preparation, like removing old tile. On average, you can expect to pay between $5 and $45 per square foot, largely depending on the type and quality of the tiles you choose. For example, ceramic and travertine tile cost about $1 per square foot, but luxury tile options like marble cost up to $350 per square foot, not including labor.

Yes, tiling a bathroom is a great way to boost the value of your home. Tile is a highly durable and attractive building material, and savvy buyers will know they’re getting a low-maintenance flooring or wall covering that can last for 75 years or more. Keep in mind that the return on investment from tiling your bathroom will likely be higher if a professional tile installer does the work. Tiling is a complicated job, and mistakes will be very evident and detract from the appearance and value of the finished work.

On average, you can expect the tiling in your bathroom to take around 12 hours, usually spread over at least two to three days. The process can take longer if your tile installer needs to remove old tile first. Tiling a floor takes around six hours, and tiling the shower area often takes six to 10 hours. Some factors that affect the length of the project include the type of tile, the layout of your bathroom, and any prep work that your installer needs to do beforehand. It’s best to have an alternate bathroom available during the process.

Tile will almost always last longer than laminate flooring, regardless of the type of tile installed. Porcelain tile can last for 75 years or more with proper care, and even less durable ceramic tile will last for 60 years or more, provided they’re installed by a tile professional. On the other hand, laminate flooring has an average lifespan of around 20 years, and you might only get 10 to 15 years out of low-cost laminate flooring. As such, tile will add far more value to your home than laminate.

To find a local tile installer, your first step is to connect with professionals in your area and interview them. Ask the following questions to get a sense of their experience and ability:

  • How many years have you been in business?

  • Do you have a list of references I can contact?

  • What materials—tile, thinset, and mortar—will you use?

  • Does your pricing include materials and labor?

  • How long will my bathroom or kitchen be out of commission while you work?

Then, compare prices to find the best value for your investment.
