"Great. They addressed all our concerns about grading water away from the house. After multiple rains the grading has worked perfectly. Paid particular attention to creating clean and straight demarcation lines where asphalt met grass, essentially expanding width of the driveway 6 inches and created nice "flares" at the entrance to the driveway where the grass had been worn down. Before, the driveway looked like the hodge-podge of previous layers (two to three) of asphalt it was with very poor drainage. They dug up and carried away tons of old asphalt and graded. Now it looks neat and "buttoned up" as they would say. Friends of ours saw the completed job and had the guys come over to their home to get a quote to do their driveway."

The best ways to increase the lifespan of your driveway are to carry out proper maintenance and get repairs done quickly. First, reseal your driveway every one to three years to protect it from the elements. Your driveway contractor will probably recommend that you avoid driving on your new millings driveway for up to a week. Keeping pressure off the freshy applied millings will help the driveway to bind together. While the sun is helpful for binding millings, hotter weather can actually make the curing process take longer.

About 6 inches between the edges of each stone in the sequence is common. Rather than sticking to 6 inches, some people measure the length of the entire path and adjust the space between stepping stones a couple of inches wider or narrower than 6 inches to make sure the entire path fits the length perfectly without having to cut a paver at either end. Other people prefer a design with a 24-inch distance from the center of one stone to the center of the next stone, which matches the stride of an average-sized person.
