Today, repair expert, consultant, and general impresario Mr. Roman Arnold diagnosed, repaired, and rescued my older but wiser and otherwise excellent HVAC system from a state of non-function and he did this in only a few minutes, getting right to the heart of the matter fast. Technician arrived as scheduled at 8:00a Tues. June 14 to seal ductwork.

Tech spent approx. 30min in attic applying mastic to various area on supply and return air plenums and duct collars.

When I got home at approx. 5p I was curious and went to see what was done.

I made sure the fan was on to "feel" how well things were sealed.

I was unable to check the return air since it was sucking and not blowing. I could see the new mastic at the collars.

I could feel three areas that a considerable amount of air was escaping. There was a gap in the air handler frame near the combustion air fan, area where refrigerant lines entered the evaporator coil and a hard to reach supply plenum collar on the back side on the underside.

I suppose only one of those leaks are "duct" related.

I got aluminum tape and some mastic of my own to seal the areas allowing the conditioned air to escape.

I’m very disappointed in results from the 30min of work provided for $325 plus taxes.
