"Outstanding company! The owners are mechanical engineers and were able to figure out why a unit previously installed by another contractor caused mold in my ductwork. They completed a Manual J calculation report that indicated the unit was too large, and they replaced the unit. Previously, this contractor identified that the static pressure on both of my HVAC units was too high and appropriate adjustments were made. All employees are professional, knowledgeable, friendly, responsive and extremely helpful. Hands down, this is the best HVAC contractor I have ever worked with."

"Jim with TSB was one of 3 contractors we brought in to quote what amounted to $90k of renovations for our home in Grand Lakes. Our scope was a Kitchen and Masterbath remodel, with fresh painting throughout. We commissioned Jim for the work based on his estimate, which was competitive, along with the fact that he was the only contractor who provided a time estimate for the project. We were pleased to discover that by hiring Jim, we received the trifecta of a project that was of good quality and workmanship, was delivered on time, and delivered on budget. A few instances occurred where Jim's expertise was a big asset to our project. We were short a few bricks to finish up some exterior work, and with the bricks originally used on the home being discontinued, Jim knew a business that still kept a few in stock, allowing us to finish our project with a perfect match. Jim also kept open lines of communication with us, so we knew what was coming up each week and what selections needed to be finalized. My last recommendation for anyone considering to hire Jim, or anyone, for their renovation project, is to consider the lead times for some of the items you wish to order. Lots of supply chains are disrupted right now, which means if there's a particular sink, appliance, light fixture, or faucet that you want in your project, consider ordering early to ensure you get what you want. And lastly, thank you Jim. Our home is beautiful thanks to the efforts of you and your crews."

"Matt built an AC System for our Galveston Home and did a tremendous job! With his expertise, attention to detail and genuine concern of keeping us satisfied by making sure all of our needs were met, we place him in an “above and beyond” category and recommend him to service your HVAC needs. We also appreciate that he traveled outside of the Houston range to service our AC when needed. That says a lot considering his long commute to service us."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can draw your own deck plans in many cases. However, you must know your local building codes and be familiar with carpentry principles. Even then, it's always best to run your plans by a professional contractor with experience building decks, whether you choose to DIY some of the build or not.

There are several different steps in the pole barn building process. First, you’ll need construction plans, which you’ll use to obtain permits. Then, you can clear the land so it’s suitable for building and installing the foundation. Your contractor will frame the barn using large poles, then rough in the plumbing and electricity (if your barn has those elements) before finishing the interior, adding siding, and installing the roof.

After that, they’ll finish up the electrical work and plumbing and add your windows and doors. You may have a few other finishing jobs to do like painting or waterproofing.

Most towns and cities have regulations regarding sign dimensions for businesses. If you're opening a new business, contact the town or city's local zoning board to see the specifications you need to follow when getting your sign created. There may also be rules regarding how high your sign can sit. Be sure to learn about specifications before having your sign made. Sign companies generally won't offer refunds once custom signs have been fabricated.

Depending on what the blueprints are for, a qualified draftsperson, contractor, or architect can draw them up. In some cases, including specialty permitting for a build, you may be required to use a licensed architect.

In many cases, a blueprint drawn up by a certified professional is required before a city or municipality approves a permit.

Costs depend on desk size, labor, included features like drawers or motorized height adjustments, and required wall anchoring.
