Small jobs welcome

"David recently performed an inspection on a new home that I am having built and he made the entire process so easy. David was available anytime I reached out to him leading up to the date of my inspection and was able to provide me a detailed inspection report hours after completing the inspection. I would definitely recommend Cornerstone if you are looking for great communication and detailed reporting."

"Top notch service! Sam is very responsive and at all hours of the day! Work done is very thorough! If you need an inspection done now, this is the place to call! There was one inspection that stood out. I need a house inspected and the report made the same day. Sam was able to inspect the home and generate the reports immediately after the inspection."

"TJ did a great job finding even the smallest of "opportunity areas" while inspecting the home. He clearly pointed out each area during the walkthrough and even gave a few tips on how to handle the repairs I wasn't comfortable with."

"The Home Team Inspection Service team was a good value for the money. They' were fast, efficient and answered any questions we had and went over highlights of their finding prior to their departure. As well, we had the finalized Inspection Report within 3.5 hours of the completion of their onsite inspection."

"Derek at Frontline Inspections did a great Pre-Drywall inspection on our new build home. He was very thorough and provided us a great digital, easy to read report that we could forward to the home builder. My husband met him at the house toward the end of the inspection. Derek walked him through the entire house and pointed out things he needed to be aware of. We will be hiring Derek again for our Final Inspection when the time comes!"

"I had a great experience with Murph's Home Inspections. The inspection was thorough, professional, and extremely detailed. As a veteran, I especially appreciated the integrity, professionalism, and straightforward communication throughout the process. It was clear that they understand and value the veteran community and take pride in providing exceptional service. The inspector took the time to explain findings, answer questions, and provide clear recommendations on items that needed attention. The report was comprehensive, easy to understand, and delivered promptly, which helped me make informed decisions during the home-buying process. I especially appreciated the attention to detail and the honest, objective assessment of the property. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, reliable, and veteran-friendly home inspection company that puts clients first, I highly recommend Murph's Home Inspections. "From the time I placed the order the response time was excellent. I received the report back in hours not days or weeks. The inspector was very knowledgeable and professional. The inspection report was very detailed, and the pictures told the story. The inspector is well aware that the precise attention to the property is so important that he leaves no stone unturned. I would highly recommend "Before you Buy" to my clients, great communication skills and honesty."

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

Yes, an inspection contingency is likely a good idea, regardless of if you’re buying a new or older home. It can give you a set number of days to respond to objections that might have been found in the inspection so you can make an informed buying decision.

Repiping your home creates a large mess, and you won’t have access to water while your contractors are working. To prepare, contractors will cover the floor and furniture with drop clothes. In some cases, they may move furniture to protect it and get it out of the way. They’ll then cut holes in your walls, floors, and ceiling to expose the existing pipes.

They’ll also turn off your water, but they’ll leave at least one bathroom and the kitchen functioning at the end of the day. You’ll need to plan accordingly.

Inspections for new construction may not be legally required, but you should consider them a must if you’re buying a new home. The quality of the construction can vary widely by builder, and many inspections, even for brand-new homes, can uncover problems with framing, structural components, mechanicals, appliances, and more. Professional inspection reports give you leverage to push the associated repair costs to the builder rather than paying for them yourself, so they’re always worthwhile, if only for the peace of mind they provide.

While home mold tests can provide a simple identification of mold presence, they lack accuracy and reliability. These kits may detect mold spores but can't pinpoint the source or identify the type. Professional testing, combined with an inspection, is more comprehensive and leads to actionable next steps.

You can start inspecting your roof from the ground by looking for unevenness in the roof lines and slopes. Keep an eye out for broken, damaged, or missing shingles, and look for visible gaps where the roofing material meets exterior walls or roof penetrations, like your chimney. If you’re comfortable getting up on your roof and using the necessary safety equipment, you can get a closer look at these areas to identify signs of damage. If you notice any potential issues, it’s best to call in a professional to confirm your findings.
