"On April 15 the temperature fell from upper 60s to freezing. For some reason our bedroom heating unit has a problem in turning on the furnace if there is a sudden drop in temperature/pressure. Usually shutting it down and restarting solves the issue. Not this time though. We spent the night in living area were the other unit was working. In the morning I called couple of places and Select AC was the only provider to call back promptly. (This is a consistent indicator of good service. Any provider who returns your call promptly invariably ends up providing good service. ) . One of the other service providers  I called said they were taking appointments for "next friday" which was 10 days later. I appreciate the fact that they are so busy that they could not handle the volume but to suggest someone requesting a repair that they had to wait 10 days is downright silly.  In any case,  Billy (I hope I got the name right) from Select AC called me promptly and said he will look at the issue and take care of it the same day. During the day we exchanged calls to get a rough idea about the time he will come over. Billy outlined his schedule for the day and we figured he can make it more or less in the evening after 3pm. In the evening I drove back from work early to be at home at the time of service. I decided to give one more try and tried to turn on the heat. Voila! The furnace turned on without any issue. I didn't cancel the appointment as I wanted Select AC to check out the system as we did not want to get stranded again on a cold night. 
Billy was professional and courteous. He checked the systems in attic and mentioned everything was working fine. The flame sensor had carbon build up so he cleaned it. He gave some pointers for future reference and we will definitely keep that in mind if the issue arises again. I paid a total of $100 which included the service fee and Angies list discount. I felt it was an excellent price for service offered. If only all service providers provided such honest estimates and charges. We will definitely use Select AC again and recommend them to our friends and neighbors.

"The Service Tech came out and evaluated our outside compressor first. He checked the freon level, fan and fan motor. He said it appeared there was enough freon in the system and said everything seemed in good working condition but said the coils needed cleaning and quoted me a price for that. Then he checked the inside unit and said it was quite dirty inside and needed a good cleaning so he quoted me a price for that too. He said everything seemed in good working order but he asked if I would be interested in a quote for a new system and I said we were going to be moving in about 6 months and didn't want to spend too much money on it. He said it was a free estimate and there was no obligation. About two days later we got our estimate but haven't had anything done yet. Our system has been working fine but it just takes longer than we think it should to cool the house down sometimes. We are weighing our options right now."

"This Guy is a real pro at what he does! I don't have enough words to express my appreciation with the Job he did in my attic with the air conditioning ducts. Besides being an excellent air conditioning pro he is pleasant and honest. I had interviewed 3 other companies for the Job and I decided to go with him. The minute He went in the attic he asked me all the right questions. Questions to better replace the ducts in my two story condominium. since the air condition unit is in the first floor he needed to find the ducts on the walls in the second floor and figure out where they where. There was a duct that went to my kitchen that has never worked. He figured out that the duct came up the wall trough one of the closets. He opened a small hole on the sheet rock and fished out the duct and connected it with the other one in the attic .My home is actually cool for the first time since I moved in and I have and air condition kitchen."

Out of habit, I had been using another vendor who recently told me in the last 10 days that my unit was oversized for my duct work, that it was going to take 6 hours to fix it, and was about to sell me a part with installation and labor that would have cost $1400. I will only use Southern Air Mechanical and now know how trustworthy they are and what excellent service they provide. You can't and will not go wrong by choosing Southern Air Mechanical for your AC needs."

"Asked for a quote ahead of time. 149 special for the 10/1 then 20 bucks per vent and 30 per return additional for a total of 549. you would think since they were already going to be there the additional units would be more of a "prorated price" instead of a rip you off price. I didn't use them."

"Last Friday, my house got the Clean Heating & Cooling Air Ducts & Vents. I couldn't located this category from the list. It was easy to set up an appointment. There was a cancellation so the company rep called me to clean my duct earlier than my appointment date. Two workers came to my house. Before they started the job, à  they inspected my vent for air and duct cleaning. Show me what the condition and problem is. The Workers were very friendly and showed me every step of what they are going to do. When a few of my vents are not cleanable so they bought a few vents from the Home Depot. And installed it for me. One special size wasn't available so I had to buy it from Amazon. If you decide to clean air and duct and inspect and buy a few vent before they come to clean. Do not buy every vents in your home but buy a few vents that look very filthy. Workers are working very hard. Since they are working without air conditioning, you need to turn off the air conditioning. Please prepare some cold water or some soda for them. Please be nice to them since they are working for your house.à Â"
