"Rubber Duck Refinishing (RDR) refinished a cultured marble double-sink bathroom countertop that was starting to yellow. RDR did an amazing job, and the result is beautiful! We also asked them to repair a crack in a fiberglass hottub while they were onsite, which they were happy to accommodate and did a great job with. RDR was professional, timely, and friendly. We will definitely hire them again for future refinishing work."

Advanced Bathtub Refinishing is the oldest bathtub refinishing company in Austin, with over 22,000 bathtubs refinished, more than all the others combined. Your newly refinished bathtub will come with a FIVE YEAR WARRANTY. Some of the competition say that they have been in business ten years, when in fact less than three years, so beware. We offer the only reduced odor refinishing system in Austin.. Advanced Bathtub Refinishing refinishes all types of bathtubs, sinks and ceramic tile. We maintain accounts with apartment complexes and hotels locally. We recently completed the historic Stephen F. Austin Hotel, 151 tubs resurfaced.

"When Advanced Refinish came out in 2/23 to change my whirlpool tub into a soaking tub by removing the jets and filling in with Bondo or whatever product they used and then reglazed the tub, I initially left a glowing review. I am revising that. A year later a small hole appeared in the tub. After a few visits to try to figure out why and not being able to figure it ouit, they refunded 450.00 (half) of the original job and suggested they couldn't do anything else because they had no idea why it was failing. After about a week or two of studying the situation, I realized it occurred at the junction of one of the Bondo repair and the original tub. I called back to see if they would send someone out to repair it at some sort of cost to me, as yet to be determined. The initial tradesman came out and repaired it in 30' and charged 100.00. That repair survived 2 baths and then another crack between the repair and the tub in a different part of the repair edge. Taking pictures this morning, I see it was actually two cracks, one long and one short. I wondered if maybe the weight of the water caused it to flex and break (similar to the reason you don't caulk a tub unless it is filled with water). Could be part of it, but I also noticed a crack starting in a non-waterbearing part of the tub on top horizontal surface near the faucet where the on/off switch once was. NO reason for that to fail. I'm going to try to repair it myself this time. Probably won't work, but I want to try. This is likely a good company for many other purposes, but I can't recommend them - certainly not the process of converting a whirlpool tub. I think a company ought to understand its limitations. The job just wasn't done well. I'm sorry I ever did this because it was expensive and the 5 year warranty in this situation means nothing. I wish I had put the money towards removing this tub, something they don't do. Also, look closely at the pictures and you can see a lot of pock mark/bubbles and such. a little rough on the skin when bathing! I think a lot of dirt came through the open windows when they were putting on the coating. Probably need a cleaner way to do it. Might be able to post the pictures taken for this review in another window, maybe not. If not, one crack is about 1/2"-1" long, the other smaller. The failure on top is about 1/4 of the circular repair."

"Statewide Remodeling 2450 Esters Blvd. Suite 200 Grapevine, TX 75261 (972) 440-0266 started our master bathroom remodeling project that was started on May12th 2021 we have been without a working master bath since that date. Last time a crew was in our home was July 15 2021 and they were trying to fix the previous mistakes from different multiple crews sent by Statewide. We have had multiple crews not show or call and if they did come to our home their was no project manager to show the crew what needed to be done my husband or myself had to miss work or go late trying to supervise. The lack of communication between the project manager and different workers and the customer was poor and unprofessional no one knew what to do nor did not have the skill to preform the task. We had multiple crews sent to try and correct all mistakes listed below 1.Tile on floor had to be redone 2x and still isn't finished 2. The shower doesn't drain properly 3. The shower shelf is so slanted if you put bottles they fall off and this has been redone several times still not fixed 4. Shower Bench was put on wrong wall and shower fixtures need to be replaced still not correct or fixed  5. Bath tub was not stabilized you can hear concrete crunching when stepping in tub only has concrete on one side still not fixed 6. Faucet are loose and wall around tub still open and tub  was placed  incorrectly and not even was to have a trim around tub but was placed against wall needs to be removed and placed correctly still not fixed 7.Plumbing for tub hot water was capped off had to get several different plumbers sent from Statewide to try and fix plumbing shower floor was compromised  worker cut through shower floor to put bench still needs to be fixed 9. Vanity has no shelves or no trim around bottom of Vanity and multiple attempts by Statewide to attach Vanity to wall were unsuccessful there are multiple screw holes in cabinet and wall still not corrected 10. Vanity counter tops were never measured and the incorrect size and color was installed does not fit against wall and sinks do not fit correctly  Statewide employee came and tried to use silicone to fill in all holes and gaps you can see wall and silicone and gaps still was told new counter and backsplash was ordered and measurements were taken no one ever came and measured I waited all day no show or call 11. Statewide employee poured grout down new toilet and was told Statewide wide would send a plumber to clear out septic system and would buy new toilet if the toilet was damaged no show still not fixed 12. No working toilet, tub, shower, sink , lights,or heater Statewide removed everything and never replace still not fixed 13. Have a autistic grandson that has no bathtub to bath bought blow up tub in kitchen to bath grandson since May12th 14 . I am a nurse and my husband veteran and trucker and my 3 children and grandson have had to share a bathroom upstairs since May12th 15. bathroom had to be repainted 2x due to poor workmanship 16. Light fixtures hung uneven by Statewide employee not by electrician causing holes in sheetrock that were to be covered and  still not fixed 17. Sink faucets and plumbing still need to be added and plumber needs to finish under sinks 18. Pony wall was placed in wrong spot and put over door trim which will cause leaks need wall put in correctly and correct size We have had Tony and Rodney make multiple promises that issues would be fixed and done correctly by professionals last person sent out was the owner Jeff of JPS  Accessibility solutions he told me that he could not do any about original contract and that his crew which supposedly are the best subcontractor that Statewide has can not even start on our project for at least  6 to 8 months from now and that was all he could do, we were told by Rodney that Jeff would renegotiate contract since Statewide has defaulted on original contract but Jeff stated that he would call Rodney and have him contact us this was on the 8th of October and as of Oct 24th there has been no contact from anyone at Statewide we are requesting the amount of our contract be paid to us by Statewide for leaving a project unfinished unable to use and damaged, so we can find a professional company to complete this master bathroom remodeling disaster correctly I gave attached pictures of how Statewide has left our bathroom and will never do business with this unprofessional company so sad not one person from Statewide has made any effort to apologize or make it right have contacted BBB and waiting on Statewide still have not heard from anyone. "

We specialize in making homes more accessible for the "Aging in Place" market. As a Certified Aging in Place Specialist , we understand the concepts of "Universal Design" and how those concepts can be applied to the general public. We make homes safe. Additional DBAs - All American Construction Co, All American Company.

"Work started on November 4th and finally completed December 6th. Worked included re-tile shower and bathroom floor, install handicap bars and bench, install new shower fixture and valve, remove door and tear down half-wall then plaster and paint. Overall the work was just okay. We had to keep calling them back to correct some issues Iike toilet not working, drill holes in tiles that had to be replaced, pick up trash and unused supplies. I believe the problem was this was a 7-10 FULL workday project they tried to complete in 4 1/2 days. So they kept sending workers over in the evenings to try and finish. Somedays no workers would show up at all. Needless to say, my parents were unable to use their bedroom bathroom for almost a month. I don't like to give a bad review but, this company was on the Veterans Administration HISA so I expected more from them. I had three other estimates from other companies but decided on them because they specialized in handicap install. My personal opinion is they should NOT do handicap veterans' remodeling projects. Our Veterans and elderly need to have the work completed in expediated time and with the highest quality of craftsmanship, they deserve it. I hope this company can improve with time. I wish them the best."

Bathtub Restoration questions, answered by experts

Resurfacing a bathtub is less expensive than replacing one. Resurfacing a tub costs about $330 to $630, depending on the material, while replacing a tub costs an average of $4,150. But remember that resurfacing is a temporary solution for a worn-out tub, and you may need to refinish a tub every few years to keep it looking new.

Resurfacing countertops is relatively easy—especially for a pro. During this process, a countertop contractor will sand down or remove the existing countertop surface, make repairs, and then add a new surface or special coating. In certain instances, like if you use a laminate countertop coating system, it’s an attainable DIY for beginners.

Resurfacing a tub is worth it if there are just a few dings, scratches, or chips. Expect to pay about $330 to $630 to refinish a tub. You can restore your tub to looking brand new for less money than replacing the tub. But you're better off replacing old bathtubs with heavy damage, mold, or other major issues.

You can use other ways to seal the space where your tub and the bathroom tile meet. Using sealant tape, epoxy sealer, and spray foam can be just as effective as caulking your bathtub. When using alternatives to caulk, the one that is best for you depends on your preferences.

Sealant tape takes less time and effort to use, which is why some homeowners prefer it. Meanwhile, epoxy sealer creates a smooth and glossy finish that can complement your bathroom. Lastly, spray foam is waterproof and can act as insulation for your tub.

While certain kits make DIY possible, professionals ensure durability and quality of finish, which is vital for high-moisture areas like baths.
