Mark Andrew Gros founded MAG Builders in 1998 in his hometown Tulsa, Oklahoma with over 40 years of experience in custom building. Mark spent 14 years working, training and educating his oldest son, Shawn Andrew Gros, the family construction business of home building and remodeling. Shawn then relocated to the wonderful state of Texas where he found himself expanding his construction knowledge into the storm restoration field as a contractor and restoration specialist. Shawn quickly developed a strong passion for this business of being able to combine his love of the construction field with helping others after devastating storms. His work ethic, passion and ambition for the industry led him to the leadership roles of top management positions in some of the biggest construction & restoration companies in the country. In June of 2013, the Gros family unexpectedly suffered a great loss. Mark suddenly passed away from a unexplained heart condition, leaving the family devastated. Shawn continued his father's legacy by the re-launch of MAG Builders and the expansion of the company to proudly serve Texas for not only custom homebuilding, but also to help aid those affected by the unpredictable severe storm damages that too often occur in the Lone Star State. When you've suffered damage to your home, you don't need the added stress of navigating the insurance claims process. MAG Builders provides comprehensive insurance claim management, from beginning to end. Protecting your best interests while completing your construction project promptly is our chief concern. Additional contact name - Matt Campbell.

Founder Richard Lack built the company based on his passion for solving problems and his genuine desire to serve and help people. Recognizing that the roofing industry lacks regulation and controlled standards, leaving a tainted reputation in the minds of consumers, he sets out to create a company based on personal care, reliable work, and environmentally sound business practices. If you are looking for a North Texas general contractor, send us an e-mail for a free property analysis. Many reconstruction projects are covered in full by insurance companies, but handling claims and inspections can be confusing and difficult. Our field specialists are experts at assessing damages and working directly with insurance companies, and many of them are licensed adjusters.

"I personally have not had WCG Texas complete a job for me but I would not want to at this point. I have a claim for the May 28th storm. WCG Texas was great. They came out to my home more than once and was all about helping me with getting the information I needed to the insurance company. Actually I am the one who got the information to the insurance company but after everything was filed and the first part of the claim had been processed WCG Texas let me know that they wanted to deal directly with my insurance company and for me to step aside. I let them know in person, via a phone call and an email that I did not want to do that. I have been through a homeowners claim and I am comfortable dealing with them. I asked WCG for estimates/quotes for the many parts of the damage and I was told that they just take care of everything (even though they are hiring sub contractors to do some of these jobs) and I don't need to worry about this. I wanted to see roofing shingle colors, types of roofing materials, etc to ensure we were getting the same quality we have in place now and I was told that the things I am asking for (to deal with my insurance company myself, to get estimates for the work that needs to be done and to get answers to roofing questions before they start to replace the roof) goes against their business practices and policies. I would love to know what Business practice and policy keeps a company from being transparent with their customers. What practice and policy wants to keep a customer in the dark from any question they might have regarding the jobs they are going to perform for them. I would be glad to share my email to them and their response making me feel like I am asking them to do something wrong or illegal. How is it wrong to want to know what is going on and what they are billing the insurance company for and why? Why do they want to keep that secret and away from the homeowner? I have asked for an explanation and we will see what kind of detail they give me. I will follow up once I hear back from them."

Chimney repairs FAQs

Chimney repairs can take many forms for a seemingly simple structure, and costs can vary widely. Common chimney repairs include:

  • Chimney flashing repair: $150–$500

  • Repointing mortar joints: $400–$2,500

  • Repair or replacement of flue liners: $200–$7,000

  • Patching brick or stone: $350–$3,000

  • Pouring a new concrete top: $100–$3,000

  • Repairing chimney caps: $75–$1,000

The cost to replace the chimney crown or top is about $1,550 on average. The range varies widely depending on the size of the chimney, the materials used, accessibility, and the extent of the damage. If you suspect a problem with your chimney top, call a professional masonry contractor for an inspection.

Some of the most common chimney problems include:

  • Creosote buildup

  • Chimney blockage

  • Deteriorating brickwork or stonework

  • Cracked chimney top

  • Damaged flashing

  • Flue liner damage or deterioration

  • Damaged chimney cap

If you suspect you have a chimney problem, contact a masonry contractor for an inspection.

On average, chimney repairs cost about $455. However, because of the vast range of potential repairs needed, the cost to repair a chimney ranges widely from $160 to $15,000, depending on the type and extent of repairs required.

The cost to replace a chimney is about $10,000 on average and can cost up to $15,000, depending on the size, accessibility, materials, and extent of the replacement. Sometimes tearing the chimney down to the roof line and rebuilding it is an option. But if the chimney's internal structure deteriorates badly enough, a complete demolition down to the fireplace or the foundation may be necessary.
