"Mario did an excellent job fixing our gas fireplace! He called within 5 minutes of me contacting Angi and came out the same day. He repaired and cleaned our fireplace and it is working great now just in time for freezing weather! We highly recommend!"

"Brad was obviously an expert in masonry. He did the job of repairing and painting our chimney exterior as well as helped troubleshoot our draft issue. Brad also gave us pointers on general upkeep and repair for our property overall. We enjoyed meeting him, too. He was personable, courteous, and thoughtful. We would definitely hire him again."

"They came and did an inspection and the chimney needed to be repaired from the inside out and top to bottom. They gave me an estimate immediately and were able to order the parts right away. The price was more than reasonable to fully repair my chimney not only making it functional and safe, but they did great trim work on top of the house leaving it looking brand new! I'm extremely pleased with their work and now I can safely use my fireplace this winter! Thank you Tom! He was very professional, clean, and communicative throughout the entire process! I would definitely use them again!!!"

"Great work! We had a loose capstone and an archway where the mortar was falling out. Not only did Alberto and his team fix the capstone and the masonry, they also repaired a previous fix that had been sloppily done. I am very pleased with the final outcome. It matches well with our other brickwork and you would almost not be able to tell anything was done."

"Really great job, very interested in 'my small project', not only repaired the roof leak but went out of their way to find and close attic rodent access holes. Armor Shield Roofing WILL be my choice if and when we need a complete new roof."

Chimney Repair FAQs, answered by experts

When deciding whether to repair, reupholster, or replace old furniture, consider its age, quality, level of wear, and overall value, including sentimental attachment. In many cases, it is more affordable to reupholster or repair furniture than to replace it, especially for antique, vintage, or discontinued pieces.

Older furniture is often made from durable hardwoods like oak and maple, giving it a longer lifespan than newer furniture, which frequently uses lower-quality materials such as plywood or medium-density fiberboard (MDF). Because of this, repairing or reupholstering a well-made older piece is often a worthwhile investment.

To determine the best course of action from a financial perspective, compare quotes from local furniture repair services with the price of a new, similar piece. Reupholstery may not be cost-effective for furniture that was originally inexpensive (e.g., under $300). For high-quality or sentimental items, however, it is an excellent way to preserve the piece and extend its life. If you're unsure, a furniture reupholstery specialist can help you evaluate the piece and make an informed decision.

To treat sun-damaged furniture, clean the surface thoroughly to remove dirt and debris. Next, assess the damage: Consider refinishing or applying a protective sealant for faded finishes. Apply furniture oil or conditioner to restore moisture to cracked or dry wood. Remember, the best way to treat your furniture is to prevent damage in the first place. Regular maintenance and preventive measures will keep your furniture looking its best. Lastly, it may be best to consult a professional furniture restorer or refinisher for expert repairs and restoration in severe cases.

The weight capacity depends on the construction method and the quality of the hardware.  Basic side-mount slides often support 50 pounds, but less expensive versions may be rated lower. Properly built drawers with dado joints and heavy-duty, full-extension slides can typically support between 75 and 100 lbs. Be sure to check the manufacturer’s weight rating for your specific drawer slides.

Yes, in most cases it’s a good idea to wrap furniture in plastic to protect it from dirt, dust, and damage during storage. However, natural and porous materials such as wood or leather should have breathable fabric covers to prevent moisture damage from condensation. Either way, it’s always important to ensure proper ventilation to prevent moisture buildup, especially in humid climates.

Regularly check and tighten screws, avoid excessive weight, and clean surfaces with appropriate materials to prevent damage.
