About us

Founder Richard Lack built the company based on his passion for solving problems and his genuine desire to serve and help people. Recognizing that the roofing industry lacks regulation and controlled standards, leaving a tainted reputation in the minds of consumers, he sets out to create a company based on personal care, reliable work, and environmentally sound business practices. If you are looking for a North Texas general contractor, send us an e-mail for a free property analysis. Many reconstruction projects are covered in full by insurance companies, but handling claims and inspections can be confusing and difficult. Our field specialists are experts at assessing damages and working directly with insurance companies, and many of them are licensed adjusters.

During the fall of 2015 Eco caused interior damage to my ceiling and four rooms in my house. They caused the ceiling to crack and caused numerous nails to pop out of the walls. Richard, the owner, came by the day of the roof installation and I was showing him the pieces of ceiling that were raining down. He told me ?don?t worry, we?ll take care of all of that?. They had to repaint four rooms in my house and patch the ceiling. However, he was arguing with me and my insurance company about the repair work. Richard told me ?go takes the dimensions of the rooms yourself that we painted, should your insurance company need that information?. Since when did I become a contractor, it?s not my job to measure my ceiling. On 4/9/16 a sub-contractor came by the house and said ??I know what happened here; their workers were just throwing up the bags of shingles on to the roof instead of raising them up from the ground?. Throwing the shingles up caused the ceiling to break. The same sub-contractor went to replace the wrong exterior vent on the house. The owner gave the sub the wrong vent and even though he tried to fix it; the vent is still hanging out of the house. By Texas state code, Richard is not allowed to have accumulated profit and overhead on his invoices. I have repeatedly asked him to fix this but he is refusing to do so. I had also given Richard a referral for two homes down and he promised, in an email, to give me a kickback of $250. Despite several requests, he is refusing to do so. He is going back on his work and his promises. Eco also installed gutters and downspouts but they do not match my fascia which should have matched stated in the original estimate. Richard sent someone to hand paint them when he was made aware that the wrong color was ordered and installed. Hand painting the gutters and downspouts lead to drips and streaking. This is similar to hand paining a car the wrong color. Spray-painting is the way to go and despite efforts from myself and my insurance; who Richard said was not qualified to judge him. Richard also said the only way he would finish the job was if he could re-hand paint the gutters. During a meeting with my HOA, who was trying to help, Richard admitted that the hand painting of downspouts was a small oversite. Also, during the meeting, the owner attempted to backtrack on the popped nails and broken ceiling by saying ?what I meant was we would take care of that and submit that into your insurance?. Doug, who is their 1099 contracted employee, also present during that meeting, takes 100% responsibility saying ?that was my fault, my oversight [I didn?t see that on the estimate], he wrote the estimate. One of the reason I chose Eco: they use the same software as my insurance company. Doug was not responsible but owning up to it was appreciated ? After Speaking with Patt Modene of the Texas Department of Insurance, he stated that the nail pops are separate and distinct damage not caused by hail damage but by Eco due to their actions. As of today?s date, Richard is again breaking the contract and has said that he will not do any more work on the house. He said he will submit an invoice that I will have one week to pay; the last time he did this to me he also threatened to put a lean on my house. ***UPDATE*** The company put a lien on my home after they damaged my home. A court ruling ended in my favor with findings in the amount of $26,000. Richard didn't personally put the lien on my home, which is not legal. The lien was also placed on my home outside of a legal time frame. The lien was found to be fraud. He also is responsible for my court and attorney fees. Richard was also found to owe me an additional $3000 to fix my home and $9000 in trouble damages. Please reconsider using this company if you are looking into hiring them.
