Greg checked the breaker box, and looked around the house. He noticed that the main water line for our house is located outside our son's bedroom, and that all of the pipes are in the ceiling above his room, and branch out from that point. He checked the location of the hot water heater (on the other side of a different wall of his room). He took me outside and showed me the pipes entering the house. He said, "This is the main water line into your house. The pipes run up the outside wall of your son's bedroom, and into the ceiling, and from there they branch out, to your hot water heater, for example. I'm not a plumber, but there is a valve to regulate pressure in the pipe line coming into the house. Your house is about thirty years old, and I'm guessing that the valve is wearing out, the water pressure is varying randomly, and the sound is coming from the pipes." This seems like the most reasonable answer to the sound problem in the ceiling in this part of the house. "Electricity is always in the wires, it doesn't vary" Greg told me, "water pressure can vary. The sound is inconsistent, so varying water pressure is the likely answer." I agree. I asked what I owed him for the half-hour he'd spent looking for an electrical problem, and he said nothing. He handed me his card and he smiled, "You'll need us some day. Give me a call when you do." Greg is definitely a smart, experienced professional who has great trouble shooting skills and can think outside the box to solve problems. He communicates clearly and thoughtfully with warmth and some humor, and is not condescending nor does he pressure his customer to do work outside the scope of the service call or that doesn't solve the problem. I'm impressed. I think other people would like to have someone with this kind of skill, work ethic and customer service to come to work on their home. I definitely will call him when we need electrical work. All of the services, new home plumbing, replace water heater and recently drain issues were quickly and cleanly completed. Very good company!!
Terrible customer service! This company does not understand what it means to operate in East Texas. A service gentleman came to our house and tested the system with a device that acts as a thermostat, we were told the problem was only with our thermostat and that it needed to be replaced...

I called about 7PM and although they were booked solid, they did send someone out. Their plumbing specialist came out and did a most thorough check and did find the leak . It was coming from a water heater and the vent out of the roof had been broken off by someone doing work on the roof. The...

Great! I recommended this company to a neighbor that had a leak in the yard. They had dealt with a "high" water bill for 2 months. With no water standing in the yard, it was difficult to find. Several companies had been out "looking" for it. They called Michael Carrizales at Irrigation...

Greg Sconce arrived on time at 9:00 a.m. with an assistant. They were clean, neat and professional. They listened to me. I explained where the family was describing the sound being present, literally above their heads, and 'in the ceiling.' I explained the inconsistent nature of the sound,...

They came in to install a hot water heater, they were prompt, professional, and clean. While here they went above and beyond, fixing a sewer trap that was backing up into my house. I had contacted another company the night before about fixing the sewer and they refused.

"Horrible! The tech they sent out has left two times and now my dishwasher sits in the middle of the kitchen floor! Very unprofessional! Only installed 1 of the 2 parts and said it doesn’t need the mother board. How does he know this this electric or water connected? Stated he can’t put back because drain line goes through the floor. It’s a pier and beam home."

FAQs for water heater service projects in Frankston, TX
The average cost to install a new water heater is around $1,300, but you can expect to pay between $875 and $1,750, depending on the kind of water heater, the size of the unit, and the professional chosen to complete the work. Tankless water heaters can push your price higher, as installation is more complicated, with prices as high as $3,500. The location and accessibility of your water heater will play a role in the project cost, as those sitting in tight spaces like a crawl space will drive up your labor costs.
Tankless water heaters are more expensive than those with a storage tank, but they come with some impressive benefits that most homeowners find worth the higher investment. Most importantly, they provide unlimited hot water, so you’ll never run out like you would with a storage tank. Tankless heaters are also more efficient, so comparing gallon-for-gallon, you’ll spend less on hot water with a tankless heater. Tankless water heaters are also smaller, require less maintenance, and tend to last longer than storage tank water heaters.
It usually takes a professional water heater installer between two and three hours to remove an existing water heater and install a new tank heater. However, it could take four to five hours if they have to work in a small utility closet or another tight area, like a crawl space. Tankless water heaters have a more complicated installation process, so they will take a bit longer. Additionally, a gas water heater requires a connection to a gas line, and that alone can add about an hour to the installation timeline compared to installing an electric water heater.
It is very difficult and dangerous to install your own water heater, so we strongly recommend against tackling this as a DIY project. Not only will you need to wire your water heater, but you’ll also need to connect plumbing to the intake and outlet. Sweating copper pipes and connecting wiring properly are skills most DIYers don’t have, and even if you do feel confident you can do it, working with water and electricity always leaves the potential for electrocution. Hiring a local water heater installer is well worth the investment.
In most municipalities, a license is not mandatory for water heater installation or replacement. However, we strongly recommend hiring a licensed plumber or water heater installer to handle the work. Licensed installers are far less likely to make a mistake during the installation, which means paying for the experience decreases your risk of a leak and other issues. You can use our state licensing tool to find out if a contractor you’re considering in your area holds a plumber’s license.
