"After consulting with a lot of foundation companies, and having many of them try to bid much more work than what was needed. Mason explained the entire process, worked with our Masonry company, and gave us a lot of confidence in the entire process. Day of work, they came in on time, worked steadily through the miserable weather, and left the yard and work area nicer than it was before they were here. You can already see such a difference in the areas they lifted. Mason was onsite with his team and able to answer questions and show us the progress as it was happening. I really can't recommend Mason and his team enough!"

"Workers showed up on time and when they were done you couldn't even tell that they were here. Very courteous and friendly employees, answered any and all questions I asked. Asked me if I would like for them to spread any of the remaining dirt in certain spots and hauled away what was left over after that. Cost of the entire job was middle of the road as far as quotes go but they did an excellent job. Entire job took just about 10 hours to complete (started at 930am and completed a little after 7pm). Ty, Eddie, Raul and the rest of the employees are all good people and I would definitely recommend anyone needing foundation work to give them a call.

"The crew led by Brandon G arrived early and got to work right away. Jefferson and Fransisco worked hard and got the jacks in place quickly. I really like this foundation support method way more than other cheaper and less reliable leveling solutions. Very professional and got it done quickly and well."

"The concrete supporting the deck around the pool was sinking, causing the flagstone to crack and split away from the pool coping. Southern Concrete Raising performed grout injection around the perimeter of the pool, raising and stabilizing the surface. The job took several hours. Everyone at the company was nice, punctual, excellent communicators, and easy to work with."

"We needed an evaluation of our cracked foundation. They took measurements and established a baseline for annual checkups. They will come back next year to see if there has been any additional movement that would require repair. I offerd to pay them but they said their evaluations are free - no charge. Excellent customer service before, during and after the evaluation!"

"I needed to get my brick walkway repaired from damage done by some deliverymen. The HOA was going to fine me and so it needed to happen soon. This company responded promptly and sent two skilled workmen who replaced the brick seamlessly (with some taken from the back patio) so the repairs didn't look odd. They worked politely and efficiently, and got the job done as promised in a few hours. Very happy with the results, will likely have them back for more work soon."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Yes, depending on the type of pavers you have, you may need a specific type of sealant. For example, concrete pavers will bond differently than clay pavers or faux stone pavers and will demand a different type of sealer. If you’re unsure of the material and what type of sealant you need, you can contact the company that laid your pavers down for you.

Mortar and thinset both serve the same purpose—tile adhesion—but have different compositions and use-cases. Thinset is heatproof and presents a wide range of possibilities due to the added polymers. Mortar is typically used for bonding stones and brick. Thinset is rarely used outside, while mortar is rarely used inside.

Costs depend on material type, labor, chimney requirements, and structural reinforcements.

Yes, concrete is significantly stronger than masonry, especially if the concrete pour includes reinforcements, like steel rebar. Concrete is a uniform material that can withstand compression, sheer force, and tensile force as long as it’s reinforced. Masonry involves the use of mortar or grout to connect individual building materials, like brick, stone, or tile. Mortar and grout are also reasonably strong and resist compression well, but they don’t come close to the strength of poured concrete.

Discoloration ondifferent types of brick can range from harmless to red flag. For example, efflorescence that is caused by a buildup of water-soluble white salt is considered harmless. However, green or greenish-yellow stains are caused by salts that are harmful to brick. Staining can also be caused by rust, corrosion, lime run, soot, algae, or moss.
