"This is a very bad place to do business. Yes they give free estimates that are outrageous and they are very intimidating and high pressure. They have pictures of other places and try to to tell you it yours. They do a very poor job. Cant even clean a dryer vent properly. Never again. i will find a better place. try stanley steemer."

"TBRC is great. They replaced and painted the trim on my home a few years back. Last year, after Harvey, they jumped in and restored our home from the three feet of water damage. They quickly removed the drywall and about a week later got started on repairs and replacements. The owner, Gilbert Flores, is very nice and professional and he has assembled a wonderful team of skilled builders. It took almost six weeks to complete and now it looks better than before. I also had them out earlier this year to change all of the faucets and I am currently getting scheduled to change the kitchen light fixtures. I will only call TBRC and Gilbert for home repairs."

Fireplaces questions, answered by experts

You can let a fire burn out in a fireplace as long as you or someone else will stick around to monitor it until it goes completely out. This may take several hours. To prepare, stop adding fuel to the fire well before you’re ready to call it a night. If you’re using the fireplace for warmth, you’ll want to cover up in some blankets as the flame dies down.

It’s best to install a wood-burning stove in a central location on the ground floor of your home. For many people, this means putting it in the living room. It also makes sense to install a wood stove in your living room if it has a working chimney that you can use to vent the stove’s exhaust.

You can close up a chimney instead of demolishing it. Homeowners often go this route because the cost of removing a chimney, especially a structurally important chimney, can be expensive.

Properly closing up a chimney involves closing and sealing the damper, installing a chimney cap damper, and sealing the fireplace opening with a door or bricks. The cost to seal and cap a chimney is around $500 to $650—significantly less than the average chimney removal cost.

DIY cleaning involves brushes and safety gear, but it may not be safe to reach high or hidden areas, so professional service provides comprehensive assurance.

You only need to repoint a chimney every 30 or more years, with some repointing jobs only necessary after several decades. If your chimney’s brickwork looks worn out or crumbly, hire a pro to inspect and repoint the chimney to improve its strength and waterproofing for many years to come.
