"Superb job! Everything was well done. The handyman understood exactly what I needed and finished all three jobs in under 4 hours. (I was expecting to pay for an additional hour or two.) After four months, everything is holding up perfectly."

"Everything went smoothly. Louis is very professional. Excellent outcome. Patched the spot and finished it to match the texture of the rest of the wall. Couldn't be better. We are completely pleased and will be calling him again."

"The team was punctual, did the entire project in the budget range stated, and left a clean install. Not only am I happy with the price, I feel the fit and finish made it look less like a workshop and more like a finished living space!"

"It was okay.  Materials weren't included in this deal and they actually went over their time a little bit. It was more than $348 but I don't remember the exact cost.  I would probably use them again.  They had two people come out.  The work is still not completed.  They went over, but there's still more to do.  For the most part the workers were professional.  But one of them left all their garbage and I had to clean it up."

Trampoline Assembly questions, answered by experts

It may be tempting to DIY the construction of a swing set to save money, but we don’t recommend it. Since children will use the swing set, the entire system must be solid and safe, meaning the cost savings aren’t worth potentially endangering them. Plus, most DIYers will have to build their swing sets out of wood, which won’t last as long as metal or vinyl and introduces the risk of splinters. Instead, hire a local playground equipment installer to ensure the swing set is built safely and efficiently, setting up your kids for fun for years to come.

You can start by finding playground installers in your area that have amassed mostly positive reviews online. Next, search for the companies on the Better Business Bureau’s (BBB) website to see if any consumer complaints have been filed. Once you rule out companies with poor reviews and a history of complaints, contact the remaining options and ask the following questions to find the right installer for you:

  • Will you pull permits if required?

  • Do you offer a warranty?

  • How long do you expect the installation to take?

  • Do you have experience working with the specific playground material I want?

Material markup costs and labor expenses are the additional primary costs of hiring a playground installer over building your own set. Labor costs are typically less costly than some more specialized home improvement projects. DIY swing set construction is less expensive than professional installation but will take considerably more time and effort to perform.

The time to install your basketball hoop depends on the type of hoop you're installing.

For in-ground hoops, it's best to allow at least five days total for the entire process, which includes any utility marking, hole excavation, anchor placement, concrete pouring and setting, and final setup of the hoop itself.

The time to set up a mounted basketball hoop is significantly shorter, with most projects completed in just a few hours.

The average cost to install a playground is around $500, with most homeowners spending between $150 and $1,200 on installation labor. The total project cost can range from $500 to $2,500. These prices typically do not include the playground equipment itself, which can cost an additional $100 to $1,500.

Several factors influence the final installation cost:

  • Playset Details: The type, size, material, design complexity, and number of accessories.

  • Site Preparation: Costs may increase if the land needs to be leveled.

  • Yard Accessibility: Difficult access for installers can raise labor costs.

  • Customization: Custom-built playgrounds are more expensive to install than premade kits.

  • Permits: Local permitting fees may apply.

Additionally, remember to budget for playground surfacing, which can cost $15 to $160 per cubic yard, or up to $225 per cubic yard for poured rubber.
