"GREAT WORK! We have used this company for all our painting needs. Used since 2018. They recently completely redid all my kitchen and utility room cabinets including the island. Went from old stained cabinets to beautiful painted cabinets. They always take great care in taping off and using plastic to cover areas to prevent overspray and unneeded brush marks. Always on time and keep the work area clean. Our house was in terrible condition when we bought it, but with MQ’s help it is now one of the nicest houses in our area. I HIGHLY recommend MQ for all our painting needs, inside and outside!!"

"Genesis Painting and Remodeling did a wonderful job painting the entire interior of our home along with replacing all the carpet. Moses crew repaired drywall in several areas. Moses responds quickly to any questions. The project was done for a fair and reasonable price too. Thank you Moses and crew!"

"Antonio and his crew are amazing. He completely a lot of work for us. Fixing Sheetrock problems, painted the interior of our house, sealed and painted the outside of the house, painted the well house, painted our kitchen cabinets, and layed a new floor throughout the whole house. "They came quickly and gave us a comparable quote. They use quality paint and primer. They move furniture to the center of the room. Cover everything with plastic and cover the floors. They cover the floors with paper from the front door to all of the rooms. They arrive on time and are very professional and quiet. These guys know how to paint and do a great job. They clean up and take everything they used away. They leave the extra paint and leave the place as it was when they arrived but with fresh paint. You don't pay until they finish the work. I will use them for all of our future paint or staining projects. Jason and Maria are a good couple and they worked hard to create a great buisness of 16 years."

"Great! JTB Painting easily won our job on the basis of price and his reviews on Angie's List. He prepped and painted all exterior wood surfaces and trim on our house in Irving, TX. We found Jeff to be as good or better than his reviews. He gave us a great price, did excellent work prepping and painting our house, and completed the work with the time he said it would take. It was very hot outside, but he worked through the heat of the day to get the job done. My next-door neighbor was so impressed with the work Jeff did on my house, he hired JTB to do his house, too! Jeff is honest, hard-working, soft-spoken, does great work, and is as good as his word."

"I saved the contact information of this company from a painting job they did for me a few years ago, because the job was so terrific. I reached out to them recently to stain the trim on my house, and paint my wrought iron fence. Their quote was one of three and not the highest. The crew was very professional, cleaned up their equipment and supplies daily, and were hard workers. The supervising personnel were very nice to deal with, and monitored my project closely daily. Every inch of my fence was inspected and marked for touchups as needed by the project manager prior to my signing off. I DEFINITLY RECOMMEND this company,, and will employ their services in the future . They take pride their work and stand behind their work until the customer if satisfied."

"Brad of B W Paint made the whole process go smoothly. He worked straight through till the interior was completed. With only 1 day off. Then he went directly to painting the exterior. The transformation was amazing. Brad was always professional and friendly. His prices were so reasonable. Any future projects I have , BW Paint is who I'll call. I have even recommended him to my friends."

Painting questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood to help prevent the boards from cracking. However, you must wait for the wood to dry out completely before applying any finish. Freshly treated wood can take weeks or even months to dry; a common recommendation is to wait three to six months. To check if the wood is ready, perform a simple water test: drip some water onto the surface. If the water beads up, the wood is still too wet and needs more time to dry. If the wood absorbs the water, it is dry enough to be painted or stained. You can proceed with building your deck or fence while the wood is still wet, but you will need to wait to apply the paint or stain.

A five-gallon bucket of deck stain will cover roughly 875 square feet in a single coat. Actual coverage will vary based on the type of wood you’re staining and the number of coats. If you plan on doing multiple coats, multiply the square footage by the number of coats to calculate how many buckets of stain you’ll need.

The best type of paint to use for chain link fences is an oil-based paint. Oil-based paints are durable and will withstand the elements well. Search for an oil-based paint with rust protection and aluminum flakes to further protect the longevity of the fence.

Typically, a fence requires one to two coats of stain. The exact number can vary depending on the porosity of the wood. For specific guidance, it's best to check the manufacturer's instructions. After applying the first coat and letting it dry completely, you can assess the finish. If it appears patchy, uneven, or you want a more saturated color, a second coat is recommended. An extra coat can also help cover lap marks.

You should inspect the area regularly for rust, clean it with a wire brush, repaint it every few years, and apply a protective sealant to prevent corrosion.
