"Z&Z pools did a fantastic job on replastering my pool. I also had a leak and they didn’t stop until it was found and fixed. They were professional,fast, and reliable. When they said they would here at a specific time they were on time. If I had a question they answered my call promptly. Every employee that came to my home was nice and extremely polite. Figuring out how to clear a green pool can seem tricky at first, but it’s all about knowing which pool cleaning chemicals to use. You may think of using baking soda to help you with your algae problem, but unfortunately, it won’t help. This is because baking soda only raises your pH and alkalinity levels. 

Instead, you need to use pool shock to clear up a green pool—the shock raises the free chlorine levels and will kill the algae.

It depends. Your pool might need chlorine every day if the water is exposed to direct sunlight and you use your pool frequently. UV light and constant use will deplete chlorine levels more rapidly. Test your water regularly to see where your levels sit and adjust accordingly. Generally speaking, most homeowners need to add chlorine following a water chemical test about one to three times per week.

If you put too much baking soda in your pool, your alkalinity will rise. That means you’ll need to take steps to lower your alkalinity. You can either add more water (which will require more chemicals because they’ll be diluted), wait for the alkalinity to lower naturally, or use a chemical like muriatic acid to lower it. 

Building a pool yourself will take at least eight to 12 weeks. After all, this is the building timeline after hiring a pool contractor who knows how to draw up plans, analyze your landscape, and apply for proper permits. If you choose to tackle any part of the process alone, assume building a pool will take two to three months at a minimum.

Pool water—or rather, the chlorine in pool water—generally doesn’t damage artificial grass. This type of grass is made from plastic fibers that are incredibly resilient. That said, you can damage artificial grass around a pool in other ways. For example, the sun’s reflection off a window or fence can melt polyethylene fibers. A temporary pool can flatten and cause an indent in turf.
