"These guys have been great so far. When they came out, they informed us of our county's requirements for septic systems, did a thorough inspection, and answered ALL my questions (new to septic systems, so I had a lot). They came back to complete some needed repairs. They're prompt, courteous and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend."

"Dwayne is incredible. Previous home owners did not disclose that the septic was collapsed and within a few months of living here the system would immediately backup into the house with the smallest amount of water, you can imagine the smell and mess that made. I called other septic companies and had trouble even getting them to show up and when they did most either wouldn't take the job because of challenges with replacing the system or would quote ridiculous amounts. I lucked into finding Dwayne and Total Septic and he showed the day after I called him, immediately started looking for solutions to the challenges my house had and quoted me the best price by far. After placing the system in, my general contractor abandoned our project because he had not submitted for any permits for the job he was doing and took off with about 60k of our money. Without permits Dwayne was not able to complete the install and the tank set exposed in ground for 6 months while I dealt with the city and legal. In that time, the hole flooded floating the tank and and snapping the piping. Once the permits were in, Dwayne came out immediately and pulled the tank out fixed all the pipes and had it working perfecting and buried in a day. For this extra effort that was no fault of his, he charged me 500 dollars. He could have charged pretty much anything at that point and I would have had to pay, but that is not the kind of guy he is. Since installing the system I have had two issues come up and both times they were out to fix either the same day or the next day. I could not recommend more Total Septic for any septic project you have. I am a lifetime customer and in a world like ours right now where 75% of the contractors are unreliable or just flat crooked, it was such a relief to find someone I could trust."

"I felt J Bar D did what they said they would do and helped me to decide on the best product application. I would use them again. They installed a septic tank for me, however, it is for a home that is not in use yet so I've not been able to use any of the bathrooms to see how well everything works. I anticipate that all will work well and given that is the case I would then rate them with 5 stars. The delay is not due to J Bar D. It has to do with other things. I enjoyed working with the owner. I feel that his input helped me to make a beter expenditure decision."

"We hired Advanced Septic to remove a failing septic system, and install a new one. The work was done timely, and i felt like we got a very fair price. The finish work and follow through was extremely impressive. The site was grated, cleaned up, and prepped for us to replant sod and return our yard to its original beauty (which was so important, because my daughter is getting married in our back yard in 2 weeks!) Mark knew i was on a tight timeline with family coming into town, and how worried i was about the shape of yard for the ceremony. The whole Advanced crew went above and beyond to make sure i was taken care of. Thanks Advanced Septic Solutions. Y'all are the best!"

"Since then I have had another electrician who has looked at the SAME box and he pointed out everything that was wrong.  Multiple wires going into a breaker (for several of them), the ground not being grounded etc. Some serious issues that were observable by simply opening the breaker box.  I had a third electrician out to the house to give me a third opinion and he agreed that there are many things wrong with the way the breakers are wired.  I was terribly disappointed by JBL electric when I realized that he hadn't really LOOKED.  Nice folks, but I won't use them again.

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is possible to pump a septic tank too frequently. The ideal pumping schedule varies based on the tank's capacity, household size, and water usage. Pumping the septic tank more often than recommended can cause the beneficial bacteria to leach into the drain field, leading to an imbalance and a build-up of solid waste.

Expect to take at least a day to drill your own well by hand. For a 500-foot well, this could take even longer, depending on the makeup of the soil and the terrain you are drilling through. Other factors include your physical strength and overall fitness level and the weather conditions you’re working in.

Schedule annual inspections, monitor water pressure, and address minor issues promptly to avoid major repairs.

A septic tank is an underground container that collects and holds wastewater until it’s sufficiently filtered and broken down. It treats wastewater by separating waste so the leftover liquid can travel into the drainfield where the soil and gravel eventually filter and purify it. This process naturally eliminates bacteria, viruses, and other contaminants.

Your drain field or leach field should be 1 to 3 feet under the ground. It will be a little shallower than the septic tank, although it can be the same depth or slightly deeper. The proper depth of the septic tank is up to 4 feet. It’s possible that your local regulatory agency requires a certain depth for your drain field.
