"Excellent products and customer service. Ryan T. came to our house and listened to what we were looking for. He worked with me and helped by giving us several choices to decide what was best for us. The installation went very smoothly and the flooring looks amazing. We did four different rooms and everything looks even better than we could imagine. Floor Coverings International is a fantastic company and we highly recommend them to anyone looking to get new flooring."

"We had foundation holes throughout our house that need wood floor patches and a lot of people we contacted gave out hollow promise to call back with a quote and then just straight up never responded. But Luis the owner has been responsive from day one and actually came back with a reasonable quote. Now our wood floor returns to normal once again thanks to the hard work of Luis’ crew. They showed up on time, and their work looks clean and professionally done. Would definitely recommend these courteous hard working men!"

"As a first time home buyer, learning about home improvements, I really appreciated their patience and honesty in walking me through the process as well as choosing materials. I have had my floors done twice now due to unrelated foundation repairs. Both times, the quality of work has been amazing. Ive had other general contractors complement my floors and ask for their contact info. I have referred them to friends and colleagues. The next time I have a project that involves fixing or repairing my floor, I will reach out to DLR Flooring again."

"Everything with this experience went beautifully. Arthur is the consummate professional. There was communication throughout every day of the project. (He even sent me pictures of the progress or any problem that came up along the way.) He had a crew of two guys working in my home who stayed busy the whole time. He was in communication with them throughout the day and if they had questions when he wasn’t at my home, they would contact him and he would call or text to ask me what I wanted or how I wanted something done. I had one wall underneath the breakfast bar that wasn’t plum. The tiles I was having installed were 12 x 60 each. I was going to have a small gap. He asked if I wanted the baseboard raised to put a sliver of tile in the space or grout up to the baseboard as I had done in other rooms. He said that he just wanted me to be aware that if he filled the area with grout, it might look a little off. It was a very thin area so I had him fill it with grout. I can”t even tell it’s there. All my tiles look like old hardwood flooring and the grout turned out to be a perfect match. I would hire him again in a heartbeat! There aren’t many out there like him. The tile is beautiful and should stand up easily to four dogs. : >)"

"We love our new floors! After talking to multiple flooring and remodeling companies, we chose Floors Pros because of the confidence we felt in Abrahim and his conversations with us; he was respectful, answered our many questions patiently, and did not push us like others did. Because we trusted him, we rightfully were able to trust his crew as they worked to complete our job. Not only did our installer answer any question we had during the install, Brandy was proactive and outlined every morning what he and Marvin would accomplish and asked us if we had any questions. Our floors were completed as scheduled and are beautiful! We will definitely give Abrahim a call for our next home project!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, carpeted stairs are generally considered safer than stairs with hard surfaces like wood, vinyl, or tile. Carpet provides more traction and friction, which helps reduce the chances of slips and falls. Additionally, if a fall does occur, carpet offers more cushioning, which can lessen the severity of an injury. While hard surfaces can look great, they are often more slippery. However, it's worth noting that some carpets, especially if they are new, dirty, or have a slick texture, can also pose a slipping hazard. To improve safety on any type of stair surface, you can add traction treads to increase grip.

To prep a floor for painting, start by sweeping and cleaning any loose debris that could puncture the protective material. Take out as much furniture as possible. Then lay plastic, canvas, rosin paper, or masonite sheets across the room, securing them at the edges with masking tape. Plan your painting so that you minimize the chances you’ll step in and track any splatters.

The type of flooring you choose for your bedroom comes down to personal preference. Many people prefer carpet over hard-surface flooring types (such as hardwood, tile, or stone) in their bedrooms because it’s warmer and cozier. Carpeting also helps muffle sound, which may benefit those who have trouble sleeping.

On the other hand, some folks prefer the look of hardwood over carpet. People with allergies might also opt for non-carpeted flooring since carpet fibers can attract dust, dander, and other allergens.

If the stairs are already covered in carpet, you will need to remove the old carpet and possibly the carpet pad. Any damage to the stairs like cracks, loose boards, or creaky treads may also need to be repaired. You may also want to sand and refinish or paint wood stairs before installing a carpet runner.

When you install laminate flooring, you have to install spacers (also called expansion gaps) along the edges. This space along the edges gives the flooring the room it needs to naturally expand and contract. When you don't have an expansion gap, you can end up with damaged or warped planks. This can lead to uneven flooring, which is unsightly and can cause a trip hazard.
