"Ryan was the most informed and knowledgeable of the 5 companies I had estimates from. His equipment was the highest rated on consumer reports, and his workmanship and attention to detail was absolutely excellent. He went above and beyond to install the radon mitigation system so its hardly noticeable and didn't detract from the home's curb appeal. All other companies wanted to put a chimney of pipe outside along the house exterior and didn't offer to test the slab substrate underneath to determine suction ability prior to installation which insured excellent removal power. He also sealed all cracks in the basement. Everything completed in timely and professional manner and he left the site spotless on completion. As a long time Home Adviser user I highly recommend his services."

"Avert Radon LLC , specifically Chance, recently completed radon mitigation work at my residence, installing two systems. I typically refrain from writing reviews, but felt compelled to share my experience with Avert Radon LLC . I'm extremely satisfied with the results, as the radon levels are now virtually undetectable. Chance demonstrated exceptional professionalism throughout the process. The communication was excellent, and their meticulous attention to detail was also outstanding. Furthermore, their post-installation follow-up has been consistently excellent. I highly recommend this company without reservation. They are among the best service providers I've encountered. if I could give it more than five stars, I certainly would!"

"David responds quickly and follows through on what he promises. The free radon test from the state came back high. After a second high result, we hired David for radon mitigation. The result has been a consistently low reading on our radon meter. I would not hesitate to hire him again."

"I am a homebuyer. I contacted the Inspector (Pat) through Angies list asking if he could provide me several days and times he would be available for doing a home inspection, and also for pricing. He was prompt in replying, provided both pieces of information requested, and also noted that he could do Radon inspections at a good price. His response to me was very professional and made a good impression on me."

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

The fan that pulls the radon out of the air needs to run continuously, so you may see an increase in your electric bill once you install the mitigation system. Additionally, you may see an increase in your heating or cooling bills, as the fan can cause some loss of hot or cool air.

Testing every 2-5 years or upon adjusting occupancy or structural changes maintains safe environments.

The cost for a radon mitigation system typically ranges from $800 to $1,500, with an average around $1,000. The final price depends on several factors, including the size of your home, the severity of the radon issue, and the type of system required. Your home's foundation type also significantly impacts the cost. For example, sealing and ventilating an unfinished basement might cost around $4,600, while encapsulating a crawl space without a foundation slab can range from $1,500 to $15,000.

You'll need to test your home for radon after installing the mitigation system, then again every two years. If radon remains elevated, contact a licensed radon professional, either the contractor who installed the system or a different one, and have them evaluate the system. They may need to make some changes to improve its effectiveness and performance.

Your radon mitigation system may be loud because it’s time to replace it. Any sounds are usually from the inline fan that helps create the vacuum and resulting airflow. If you hear a new, loud mechanical or humming noise from your radon fan, it might be time to replace it. Most fans used in radon mitigation systems last up to 10 years, but may need to be replaced sooner.
