"We couldn't have asked for a more knowledgeable person to repair our ceiling from a water leak. He found the source and repaired a leak in the roof as well as the ceiling. We are very pleased with his work. He is very easy to talk with and is very trustworthy. We will be using his services again in the near future. Thanks again, Scott. Bobby and Elaine Emmert."

"Don and his son, Eric, came in and took out the drywall in one day.  After MasterDry finished they came back in promptly and repaired the walls to perfection.  They even repaired a flawed area of drywall over the circuit box that had nothing to do with this job but the shoddy work done by someone else was obviously bothering them enough to fix it. They pay attention to detail.  Afterwards, I asked if they would replace three drop ceilings in the same area.  They are very efficient workers and cleaned up great.  I was very pleased with how it turned out.  Don't waste your time calling anyone else!  Don and Eric are your guys for drywall!

"These gentlemen did everything I asked them to do an even more. They cut down and trimmed trees. They also did yard work. I was very pleasantly surprised to find they can did carpentry work. I had them hang outdoor lights and various things in my house. They built boxes For poles on my porch that turned out great. To my amazement they were able to cement and fix an outside concrete wall. I will be calling them again in the future. I highly recommend themð"

"Robert and the crew made sure the work they do is to your liking. They did an outstanding job refinishing my window sills, and repairing ceiling damage that I had. They were very professional, and cleaned up after the work was finished which is important, and the crew was very easy to work with. Robert explained what he was being gone which is always good to know and I am going to have them come back to do additional work at my house. The pricing was fair, in overall what I felt was a very good value."

Plaster Repair questions, answered by experts

If your premixed drywall mud is dried out or has begun to set in the bucket, you may be able to revive it by adding warm water and stirring. However, the first and most important step is to scrape off any hard, dried bits of drywall that may have accumulated toward the top of the container and throw them away because they will not easily reconstitute back into the drywall mud mix.

You can plaster over regular drywall, but it's essential to prepare the surface properly. Before plastering, the drywall should be clean, free of dust, and any loose or peeling paint should be removed. Applying a primer specifically designed for plastering can improve adhesion. Some professionals recommend applying a base coat of plaster or joint compound to create a better surface for the plaster to adhere to. Proper preparation ensures a smooth and durable plaster finish over regular drywall.

Common causes include water leaks, settling, and impact. Address underlying issues to prevent recurring damage.

If you already have plaster walls and ceilings, adding new plaster costs $2 to $10 per square foot. For an average-sized room, that would come out to $1,200 to $10,000. However, the cost to replace plaster with drywall is higher—running between $720 and $1,250 for a 10-by-8-foot wall or ceiling (not including drywall finishing).

It depends on the construction of your wall. Most handypeople can fix small holes in drywall. If your wall is plaster or brick, more significant damage may require a drywall contractor or a mason. Hiring a handyperson costs less than a more specialized type of contractor, but they’re not trained in all types of wall repairs.
