"I had a hole in the ceiling of my living room due to water damage. I could not find anyone willing to do the repair. Everyone wants to do large jobs. So the estimates were ridiculous. Omar came and did the repair in 1 1/2 days. It looks great and was a reasonable price."

"Outstanding craftsman! Repaired a brick wall that had been hit by a car. The finished repair looks great and blended in perfectly. Could not be happier with the service! Will definitely use again and will recommend to anyone needing a brick craftsman."

"Stephen and his crew essentially did a custom apartment for me, in a partially finished basement. There was a large den/family room, small 3/4 bathroom and a 9' x 7' "office" between the two. Also, there were no existing closets. In the office, there was a door that opened under the stairwell, exposing access to some of the ductwork. Well, jackhammers to the rescue, & plumbing was run from that office, into the Bath, making a small kitchen feasible. Also, to fit cabinets in there, the office wall was moved 6", into the den area & I've got a very practical, albeit small kitchen. The shower was rather small, but the crew was able to extend it by one foot, due to lost space in the garage side, & a corner bench was installed & both it and the shower head are custom heights for me. On the den side (my l.r./bedroom), under the stairs, are 3 pull out closets, plus a cubby under the lower end, with that door on the office side, becoming my pantry! A craft Rm. was later added to garage, also."

"Our search for a good home repair service is over . They came out right away and looked at what needed to be done and came back 3 days later and fixed it right. We will be calling them any time we need a repair done . And their price was very resonable! I would really like to give them 10 stars!!"

"Brian and his crew did a great job repairing our drywall after the plumber cut open the walls and ceilings to repipe the upstairs bathrooms. They were very efficient and very clean, producing minimal dust. Got the job done in half the time and at half the price of some other estimates I had gotten. The final price didn't change at all from the estimate. Will definitely be recommending them to friends!"

"It went very well. We hired Advanced Landscaping to prepare our residence for sale. Mr. Vance did a great job deciding which features to emphasize and which to remove. They did the work in a timely and professional manner, kept us informed throughout the process, and it looked great. I would definitely hire Advanced Landscaping again."

Wall Repair questions, answered by experts

Poured concrete is often the cheapest material for a retaining wall, costing around $6 to $8 per square foot. Other budget-friendly options include vinyl and landscaping timbers, which range from $10 to $15 per square foot; landscaping timbers are particularly well-suited for DIY projects. Untreated timber and railroad ties are a step up in price, starting at $15 to $25 per square foot. Natural stones can also be a cost-effective choice if you can source them from your own property, but they can be expensive to purchase. High-end materials like steel are typically the most expensive but offer superior durability and aesthetics.

With foundation walls, the slab on grade and force at the top of the wall is resisted by flooring. With retaining walls, the force at the top of the wall is not resisted.

The lifespan of a retaining wall varies based on its material, installation quality, maintenance, and local climate, with an average range of 20 to 100 years. Retaining walls made from durable materials like concrete, stone, and brick generally last a minimum of 50 years. Concrete walls typically last between 50 and 100 years, while brick can last for over a century in ideal conditions. Timber retaining walls can last from 20 to 40 years, depending on the wood quality, and pressure-treated wood walls average around 30 years. It is important to note that a retaining wall can fail prematurely if it was poorly constructed, for example, with inefficient footings or without necessary rebar reinforcements.

Yes, including patterns, finishes, and plant integration for aesthetic enhancement.

Most railroad tie retaining walls have a life span of 20 to 30 years, though you may need to replace your wall sooner if it’s repeatedly exposed to heavy rain, runoff, and excess moisture. Railroad ties are typically treated with creosote, which makes them much more durable than untreated wood. Though they last longer, they don’t last forever. For the most longevity, make sure your retaining wall has a sturdy base and steel reinforcements. You should also install drainage to direct water away from the wall.
