This is in contrast to running at full capacity as soon as they’re turned on, like a standard portable generator does. So long as the wattage rating is high enough, an inverter can power a refrigerator just as well as a traditional generator.

You can lay a refrigerator down to move it with a lot of padding underneath, but it’s best to transport it upright to keep the cooling refrigerant and compressor oil in place. These elements can cause blockages if not given time to settle before turning the fridge on.

However, many homes already have a washer and dryer hookup installed, in which case, all you need to do is attach your new appliances to the existing hookup.
