Now I live in a very nice home so they took me to the cleaners. First they chareged me over $300 to fix ?something? with the specific burner that wasn't working and promised when they came back that I would only be charged for the cost of the part. Well then they demanded $200 for this visit! I can go online and buy a burner for well under $50. Yes that is well over $500 just to fix a burner that won't ignite.
DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE unless you want to be ripped off. Just my opinion.
They are our first choice to call when we have a large appliance issue. Very pleased with their service and performance.
This company came out and performed this repair in June of 2012. $285 to essentially drop in a new circuit/overload switch- seemed high but the Danby dual zone is a high end wine fridge so i was prepared to accept that- it has also run flawlessly for 5 years.
The fridge failed 6 months later- and when i called to inquire they could not find any record of the service, they had written the invoice in another name- Not a big deal.
what was a big deal was when i told them that, and quot;i hope it is something other than the part you have already replaced, that will upset me if i have to pay you to put in the same part 6 months laterand quot;. This is where it gets interesting. and quot;well its been running for 6 months so its not our fault if it fails again- we just get the parts and put them inand quot; a few moments later she opined..... and quot;maybe its the crappy wine fridgeand quot;.
they warranty their work for 90/days- and, and quot;if its the same part you can call the manufacturer and yell at themand quot;- i was also told- but i still have to pay for someone to make the repair.
mind you, all this conversation is taking place before we even know what is wrong with the fridge and as i reminded the second person who got on the phone- and quot;i hope it is something other than the part you replaced, because then we will have a problemand quot;.
the resolution is that i am going to call another repair and if its the same part- that means the part was either defective OR there is something else that is causing the part to fail- which would indicate the technician fixed a symptom but not the actual problem.
as i noted to them on the phone- and quot;i do hope it is something elseand quot;.
this company is run like they will never run out of potential customers- perhaps they will, or perhaps they will read this and be more accommodating to their future customers.
"Per Member's response to us on the Danby Wine Ref. We went out on 6/13/12 and it was not cooling. It needed a relay and overload so Bobby put the parts on 6/15/12 and charged $285.14. He paid by credit card. I got a call from him on Friday 1/18/13 and that is when he asked us to find the ticket. The ticket was in the name of the tenant ( Bill Huff ). I told him he would have to let us come back in to recheck the unit and that he only had a 90 day warranty on parts & labor. That is when he got upset and starting telling me he was not going to be happy if it was the two parts we put on it and that he would sue us. I explained to him that we could not warranty the parts aftter the 90 days because the manufactuer only warranties them for 90 days. We dont know what is wrong with it till we check it. I tryed to explain to him about the warranty so I let him talk to Rachel. He told her if it was the same parts that he would sue us. She tryed to tell him that he needs to talk to Danby about the parts since that is the company that is who makes the parts. He did mention sueing us if it was the same parts and that he was going to call out another company."
"This information is concerning the repair on Old Charlotte Pk. for the Customer. We were called by the Customer on July 2nd 2012. We were asked to look at her Whirlpool Washer that wouldn’t spin the water off out of the clothes. Our Technician (Bobby) went out and looked at the washer and decided it needs a pump assy. When she called she was told from someone that it is the drain pump and asked me if she should buy the part and I told her no. The reason I did that is because until our tech checks the machine we don’t know what the problem is and what it needs. We also can’t warrenty any parts the customer buys. The pump that we had in stock was the orginal part number, which the part that was on factory back order that the Customer was talking about wirlpool has changed the part number and remodified it. Also, to check the machine we never put peoples clothes in the washer to check it. I did tell her that we are not allowed to be handling the customers clothes. Actually, the tech went out on August 20th and ran if 3 times and it works great. The unit was not leaking when we were there but we are still needing the cap and gasket for the unit. It is not leaking because of the limestone build up at the pin catcher. If they take it loose to clean it out then it will leak again. This part is still on factory back order. The customer asked for a receipt for the purchase of the new pump, which the tech does not handle any receipts for parts. They are entered in our system from parts distributor. She did sign our invoice stating She accepted the performed service and charge as being satisfactory and acknowledge that equipment had been left in good condition on July 2nd. She never said anything to the tech about pricing. We charge a flat rate labor of $85.00 plus parts plus tax. If not fixed we charge $49.99 plus tax. Every company in this town has a markup, ours is added into the parts where some companies added it to the labor. We have no idea where she found the price of the part. She probably found stuff on the internet. We only use factory authorized parts that have a 90 day warranty on parts and 90 days on labor."
Bobby arrived on time for Tuesday service call. Promptly repaired both problems.
Prices for parts was exactly what he quoted (actually a little less for the switch).
Very friendly and professional. Will use this company again if I need large appliance repair. Highly satisfied.
BOTH appliances are doing fine, and their magnetic calling card is slapped on my fridge for any future needs. The BAD news is, I will probably have repairs to various appliances over the next few years ... the GOOD news is, I now have a repair service that I TRUST!
I'd recommend AAA (especially Tommy) to anyone in need of appliance repair!
The service man was professional, courteous, clean and we appreciated his vigilant efforts to get our freezer going again. We appreciated even more his candor and honesty about the possible need to replace the whole refrigerator if need be though it meant he would lose out on the service fee for replacing a condenser.
In the end, we did, in fact, have to purchase a whole new refrigerator but I would definitely use AAA again and now have their sticker readily visible on our new refrigerator in case we need repairs to any of our large appliances in the future. Hope we don't but it's nice to know there is a decent, reliable and honest company we can call on if we do.
