Of course you expect typical care with your car and usually that is helpful enough. The visit we had was cheerful, everything was explained well and they helped with an additional question that was not part of their inspection. Although there was a wait for the right oil filter, they made it comfortable instead of a hassle. We left feeling thT everything was properly taken care of and checked . When I called to request a quote for his services he explained to me in depth his procedures for testing the heat pumps, emergency, and auxiliary systems of our heat pumps. He did not otherwise try to oversell his services in any way. He was very flexible and willing to work with us, and scheduled to do the inspection on a Saturday afternoon to meet our schedule. During the inspection he was extremely thorough and walked me through every nook, cranny, and appliance in the house. He has a very sharp eye and identified everything of note, both positive and negative. As for the price, I found that his rates were competitive for the area. I was used to the prices when I bought my first house in Tennessee, where the average price was $150, but he is well within the averages we received when calling around for quotes. In quality, he wrote a very lengthy and detailed report, with a concise and clear summary that we were able to send to the sellers for repairs. My only negative in the quality column is that about 15% of the deficiencies noted in the report were not supported with photographs, but that is mostly because he spent twice as much time answering my questions and teaching me about the house than he did writing the report, so that is more my fault than his. He was very punctual with returned phone calls and emails. I gave him a "B" only because he got the report to us two days later than he promised, but again, that is because he crammed his schedule to meet ours, causing him to fall behind his timeline. Marty was very patient and knowledgeable, and the most valuable thing I received from his inspection is that I understand that house from top to bottom. I would recommend his services to anyone, and I will be using him again myself.

Heating Oil Service reviews from real Angi homeowners in Dickson, TN
After hiring several companies to assess and/or fix various issues in my older home, I have discovered how difficult it is to find competent and honest workers these days! This is the first company that I have found who delivers services the old-fashioned way...what a breath of fresh air!...

"This company preys on the unassuming. Their reps propose outrageous services (and prices to match) that ultimately may not be needed. We were told over $1,200 absolutely had to be completed. I asked for a service manager to call and explain. No call ever came. A second opinion completely refuted Total HVAC's claim. In turn, we saved $1,200 from 5 minutes of additional due diligence. The real kicker is their silly $16.90 per month fee for the "service plan". This is an absolute annoyance and frivolous bill that only adds subscription based income to their bottom line - no real value! Their accounting department threatens with outlandish finance charges and fees. So glad we are no longer reliant on the foolishness of their predatory practices. Stay away!"

FAQs for heating oil service projects in Dickson, TN
To buy heating oil for your house, contact local heating oil companies to compare prices and place an order once you decide on a supplier. The company will have to deliver your heating oil in a truck designed to carry and dispense heating oil safely. Call and order your heating oil early enough to have your oil delivered before you need to start using it for home heating.
On average, you’ll need about two gallons of oil per day to heat your house when it’s 50 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Most oil tank capacity is about 275 gallons, and heating your house with two gallons of oil per day will last about four and a half months. This consumption will vary depending on the climate and average temperature in your location. For example, if the winters are longer and colder where you live, you’ll probably need to refill your oil tank at least once to get through the winter.
You save money on heating oil in a few ways:
Make sure your home is well insulated and sealed against drafts and heat leakage.
Use a thermostat that’s working properly and calibrated accurately.
Program your thermostat to lower the heat when you’re not home.
Order heating oil during the off-season when prices are likely to be lower.
Summer months tend to be when heating oil prices are lowest because of decreased demand. Buying heating oil during the off-season also prepares you for when the weather gets cold, and you need to start using the oil to heat your home. Although heating oil prices will fluctuate, it’s best to avoid purchasing between September and April, as that's the peak season for heating oil demand.
Overall, heating your home with an oil furnace tends to be less expensive than heating your home with an electric heating system. Oil heating systems stay warm for longer periods of time without drawing a constant electrical current to maintain a temperature. Plus, heating oil systems typically have a longer lifespan and lower price tag than their electrical counterparts, resulting in short- and long-term savings.
