UPDATE: He quoted me $300 to put rear brakes on my truck. I said to go ahead and change the oil while he had it. When he called to say it was ready the bill had jumped to $490 and even though he said he could take credit cards for some reason he could only take a debit card. Then when I get home here's a video I took after the brakes had cooled off for almost five minutes. [*** Link removed ***] When I told him something was still wrong he wanted me to drive the truck back to his shop which I refused to do for obvious reasons if you watched the video. I told him he needed to come to our home and fix it because I didn't feel it was safe to drive. Two days later he finally shows up and with my son's help help he bleeds the brakes and uses my trash can lid to catch the brake fluid (which he left for me to clean up) When I drove my truck again the brakes were still grabbing so I took it back to him at his shop. The next day he texts me and says it isn't the brakes but it's the rear end needing oil. He says $50 and against my better judgement I said if it would fix it to go ahead. He texts me a few minutes ago and says it's ready but it's $150. I said why and he says $50 for taking the brakes apart again (which of course only required taking off the wheels and looking at it, $50 for the service call to our house, and $50 for adding oil to the rear end. It's just plain extortion is what it is. What do I do? A $300 brake job has now become a $640 nightmare. Stay away from this shop. Far away.
