"I have known Rusty throughout the duration of his career in plumbing. He started at the bottom, as an employee and worked his way up; establishing himself in the field, as the honest and approachable plumber, who wants to educate his clients. He explains what the problem is and provides different levels of solutions, depending on how urgent the case is, rather than falsifying a sense of urgency. If you’re looking for somebody who is credible and will get the job done, this is who you call."

"Fabulous products, service, knowledge & skills! We had a walk-in bathtub removed and replaced along with 96" worth of ugly tile on walls. Our new 2nd bath is beautiful. We chose white tub & white subway tiles and polished nickel fixtures. The team did a fabulous job replumbing (they found problems with old plumbing and fixed it properly), removed the beastly tub without splitting in two parts, meticulously placed plumbing, tile backs, and tub in and installed new fixtures. They jumped through hoops to locate polished nickel products to include the shower rod. We also had them finish the plumbing in our unfinished 3rd bathroom and the install a 32" corner shower. Whew...it's a small bathroom so we talked with the crew chief doing the work (he's SOOOOO knowledgeable and just a great guy!) and he gave us suggestions regarding sink and toilet. It's a tiny bath so we greatly appreciated Westshore stepping up and going above and beyond to do the work in our home. We get rave reviews on how well these bathrooms look and it shows! Just beautiful! Price was right on point considering they went above and beyond and followed up."

"We are pleased with our bath remodel that included a new tub, tub surround and wainscot walls. There was one small problem with the walls due to the ceiling and walls not being plumb however they did go above and beyond by doing more than was was agreed upon by making plumbing improvements, installing a new lighted medicine cabinet and repairing a light fixture. They were very courteous and the installer even made a suggestion for a change that we agreed would be better."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

In Union, shifting red clay soils place heavy stress on underground supply and drain lines. Winter freezes damage exposed pipes in crawl spaces and exterior walls. If you live in an older home, expect to replace aging cast iron drain lines and galvanized supply pipes. Additionally, regional water hardness causes accelerated mineral buildup in water heaters. Inspect these areas regularly to keep your plumbing flowing smoothly.

Helpful?

Combine plumbing with crawl space encapsulation, insulation upgrades, or HVAC ductwork to avoid repeated under-floor access. During cosmetic kitchen or bathroom remodels in historic Union homes, replace aging cast iron and galvanized pipes while walls are open. Coordinate outdated electrical wiring updates at the exact same time. Updating interior supply lines during a well-to-municipal water conversion also streamlines your renovation and minimizes disruptions to your daily routine.

Helpful?

Always secure and retain copies of all final inspection approvals to protect your property value. Flush your supply lines thoroughly to remove any dislodged sediment from older municipal systems. If you rely on a well, test your water quality immediately. Monitor your crawl space for moisture accumulation and confirm your vapor barrier remains intact. Finally, verify your rural SC septic system flows normally without backing up after drain line repairs.

Helpful?

Start by locating your main water shutoff at the street or pressure tank. Test individual fixture shutoffs regularly, as humidity-related corrosion causes them to seize in older SC homes. During winter cold snaps, open sink cabinets and allow a slow drip to prevent frozen pipes. Tackle minor repairs like clearing simple clogs or replacing toilet flappers yourself. Hire a licensed professional for any alterations to your water supply system.

Helpful?

Low crawl space clearances in older Union properties make under-floor repairs physically demanding. Slab-on-grade foundations require extensive concrete cutting to access pipes. Homes built before 1960 feature cast iron and galvanized pipes that complicate fittings. Expanding red clay soils create low spots in drain lines over time. On rural SC properties, undocumented septic fields and strict setback rules dictate exactly where you place new exterior connections.
