Do not hire this contractor. He was hired by my elderly neighbor to repair her boathouse. Not only is he not licensed to do this work he is not qualified. In the process of "fixing" her boat house he damaged my boathouse. He has yet to accept any responsibility for this. He has now been cited by the State of SC LLR. So now not only is her boathouse not repaired, mine is damaged, and he still will not return calls or emails to repair the damage

"We did a job for a ladies boat house Who had a leaky roof , rotted deck, and In general a lot of rotten wood. She had a flat roof and the other side of the boat house had a standard pitched roof. Who had a different owner. We raised our clients roof to match the other side of boat house and no more leaks. Mr [Member Name Removed] claimed we did something to his roof to make it leak. He started complaining and tried to strong arm us to do his roof for free claiming now his roof leaked. I refused to so now we have a un happy neighbor who seems destined to try and hurt our company. He is right about one thing. The [Member Information Removed] was completely down as the d*** was being repaired. So we redid the deck I aware that you have to have a special aquatic license to do decks in lakes. Who knew. We did water check on our customers side of boat house No leaks and we stopped fielding calls from Mr [Member Name Removed] It goes back to old saying can’t please everyone. Hate he is unhappy but his roof was leaking before we got there."

Lord, I don’t even know where to start. I think the job is just too much for them, trying to redo most of the entire house. But communication was horrible, work quality was not the best, and Contractor got defensive when we complain about issues. Was told it would be a 3 to 4 months job and ended up being almost 9 months. This was just completed last year and already our ceiling is bubbling in our bathroom and in the hallway near our back door. They’re still paints splotches on the floor in several rooms where they hired cheapest painters they could find and they made a mess. Installed a door in the bathroom does not fit properly and has a huge gap underneath. Left two big holes in our kitchen floor where the island did not lineup were they thought it was going to be installed. One of the biggest issues, though was they started construction without covering up any of our belongings. We had dust on everything, even our kitchen pots and pans, and such that were on the counter. With the poor communication we had no idea they were coming that day and no time to put everything away. We had to request that they cover things up and use plastic sheets to divide the rooms. Very little respect for your personal belongings. They would show up on the weekends without even telling us. One guy showed up and the equipment he needed wasn’t here so he could not work, but he tried to charge us for driving over. We did not even know he was coming!!! The list goes on and on and on. I have many pictures to prove it.

"Well first of all what this kind lady left out was that this project started then COVID happened Supplies were just Impossible to get and what their real problem with us was it took a lot longer than expected What this is really about is trying to hurt a company just because everything didn’t go perfect. There is never going to be a job that’s perfect from start to finish. One thing no one read was about how awful their kitchen looked. That’s because it was immaculate. The kitchen Could actually be an n a magazine! Next issue she discussed was peeling paint In a bathroom and cheap painters. She actually asked if she could just get painters do do extra work while they were there and I said sure. My company was not even doing the majority of the painting. So again this kind lady just mad at the world and leaving out a lot of details Hard wood floors issue. The floor was an older hard wood in the kitchen. and at the time of Covid we were inable to find exactly the Style and make that had. We had to add pieces where there was a wall and we moved an island. We informed them it was not going to match 100%. And it didn’t. But again all those details left out. Also the fact that all the rest of hardwoods we changed looked amazing! How the special hood we built looked great! No mention To be honest this job was completed almost 2 years ago. So I don’t really remember some of the details. Did we make a mess during demo. Very possible. Those things happen Did someone show up unannounced ? Very possible. That’ will happen from time to time. But to blast my company over some small details is very unprofessional and really hurts my business. Not to mention this job completed almost 2 years ago"

Everything from beginning to end went beyond our expectations. We had quite a bit of work done, and everything done far exceeded even what we had in mind. Bryan Murray and all his crew were attentive to exactly what we wanted done, and were very friendly, professional, and were always keeping us well informed as to the progress, and what to expect. This was the second job we contracted with this company. The first was a sun room and new windows to our former home. Good job for a good price. This time we added a screened in porch to a new home. Looks great and Bryan made sure we were happy with it! He spent time with us before and after the job to make sure we were pleased. Would definitely recommend them.

One of the three windows in my living room had moisture in between the pane. In order to replace all three panes had to be replaced as it was one large window encased in wood. The replacement window had to be made of wood so it could be painted to match the outside of my house and the inside had to be stained. Bryan came out and determined what I needed done and he located someone that could make a replacement. The replacement window was perfect, it appeared to be well made. The installers did a great job, they had to make some new molding as my old molding did not fit, however the new molding blends with the other wood in the room although my house is 30 years old. All of the employees were very professional, courteous and very skilled at their job. I will call Five Star Windows and Remolding agin when I need some work done as they do more than just install windows.

They were great-they came when they said they would and even returned after the project was complete when I thought that I had a problem with a window (turns out it was user error!) They offered the best price around for a high quality window. Other people we have hired for different jobs have commented on what a good job the installer did. We are very pleased with their work!

It went very well. Brian was always easy to contact and kept us up-to-date on the scheduling of the installation, which was weather-dependent. The men who worked at the house were very polite and willing to do whatever was asked. It is very important to me that the people who work on our home are friendly and competent-and these guys were both.
