"We couldn’t be happier with J&J air and highly recommend them. Our air went out late last Friday afternoon (6/21/24) just as this latest heat wave started. They sent someone out within the hour to check it out. They confirmed what we were thinking, which was we needed a new unit. Joe Deluca showed up on Monday morning 6/24/24) and went over everything in detail with us, laying out all of our options so we could make an educated decision. Joe was able to get the unit ordered for us and get the installation scheduled for first thing Wednesday morning 6/26/24. The installers were on time , very professional and polite. Joe also showed up that morning to confirm the installers were there and make sure everything was going ok. After the install was done, Jesse showed up to go over the new thermostat with me and to make sure everything was working properly and everything was cleaned up. After Jesse left Joe Deluca showed up one last time to confirm everything was done properly and that we were satisfied with the job. We can’t say enough good things about J&J Air; from start to finish everyone we came in contact with was top-notch!"

"This is the best HVAC Company I have ever dealt with. I was looking to replace my old tired HVAC system with a newer more efficient system. I called the office and told them i was looking to replace my system. Sal came to my residence the same day I called and before he left he told me exactly what the job was going to cost, but then I hit him with the rest of the project. I wanted a Bosch system with a full duct replacement with all hard ductwork no flex duct, and the work to include removal of the entire old system including flex duct, then moving the interior unit to a more central area in my attic and raising all the hard ducts as high as possible giving me so much more room and easier passage through out the attic. They also installed a multi unit Samsung mini split, one head at about 30 feet and a second head about 100 feet. Once again, I requested the Samsung brand and sizes 12000 & 18000. Unit also has connections for 2 more heads if I ever wish to add more."

"Pricing was fair. The quality of the new unit is very good. They came when they promised, and did a very professional job of the installation. They were very conscious of not damaging floors and other objects in the condo. I'm very satified with the work."

"Work was done in a timely fashion and to perfection. Owner went above and beyond to insure I had some cool air in home till install was complete. The price he gave me for my unit was way less than any of the other companies I contacted. Would absolutely highly recommend them to anyone needing a new AC unit."

"I had two other companies try to sell me a system for the cost of 4500.00 and above. One hour heating and air installed a device that cost $160 preventing the problem I was have Mt from occurring again. They too can sell me a new system however the system still works and did not need replacing.."

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Swamp coolers cost approximately 50 percent less to install than central air conditioners and cost less to run. Operation costs depend on the size of the unit and home, your climate, utility rates in your area, and the system’s efficiency. Swamp coolers use 15 to 35 percent less power than air conditioners.

While all portable AC units will collect moisture as part of their cooling and dehumidifying process, whether and how often you need to drain them depends on what kind of unit you have and the natural humidity levels where you live. For example, if you live in a very dry area and have a self-evaporating unit, you may not need to drain your portable AC very often at all. Some units may automatically drain collected moisture out the window through their exhaust vent.

No, it's not advisable to only replace the outside AC unit connected to your system. AC units are designed to work as a cohesive system, and older units work differently than newer units. Therefore, replacing only one component can lead to incompatibilities that affect the system’s performance. Replacing one component can void your warranty, costing you money for repairs.

If you know how to identify supply and return ducts, you’ll find that only the supply ducts will have dampers. Although your return ducts can have dampers, it’s not common. If you have one return duct that is pulling in too much air, adding a damper to it can help with overall system performance. However, dampers on return ducts are not a necessary addition for most homes.

Yes, you should turn off your AC if it’s leaking. Turning off the system prevents more condensation from leaking and reduces strain on the unit if a damaged internal component or lack of refrigerant is the cause. While this may temporarily stop the leak, water can continue to drip from a thawing coil even after the system is off. As soon as you notice a leak, turn off the unit and investigate the source or call a professional for an inspection.
