"I had a very small area between my house and the neighborâ s house. We both needed some privacy. Garden of Eva Landscaping helped us select the trees and landscaping plants to provide privacy without being overwhelming. The plants are different and beautiful. We have instant privacy and beauty. They work efficiently. They are hard workers . We went to several nurseries before we decided on Garden of Eva Landscaping. Their pricing and professionalism make them an outstanding landscaping service. I highly recommend Garden of Eva Landscaping. If you are looking for something different, this is the company. "Brad Barnett finished a lawn sodding project that another landscaper started but never returned to finish despite numerous phone calls. Brad came when he said he would. He offered to complete the project at a fair price and within one week. Brad kept his word on everything. His work was excellent and I am very satisfied. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs landscaping or lawn care service."

"I needed repair of a section of lawn on the side of my house. Three different landscapers were hired to do it, only to back out when it came time to do the job. Ricky came out, told me how he was going to do it, and did it. A nine month headache is finally gone. Heâ ll be taking care of my lawn this year. Iâ ll check back with that work."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

By definition, gardeners are experts at designing and maintaining outdoor gardens. Their job duties extend far beyond choosing the right plants for the area, which in itself is a job—they also help maintain the health and well-being of the plants. Gardeners work independently or for landscapers, nurseries, or horticulture design companies.

Xeriscaping can be more affordable than traditional landscaping, but it depends on your landscape design. However, you will save on water. If you live in an arid climate or a location prone to droughts, xeriscaping is an especially efficient way of reducing your lawn’s water demand without detracting from the beauty of your yard.

Plant privet hedges at least 1 foot apart in a trench about 2 feet wide and 2 feet deep. It’s important to space privet hedges relatively far apart due to how quickly they grow to significant sizes and heights. You don’t want to crowd privet plants, or they could overcrowd each other, causing unwanted damage.

Unless it only rains once in a blue moon where you live, you’re going to want water-loving plants in your garden bed or pot. A few ideas for plants that aren’t super fast-growing (meaning they’re good in pots or near foundations) and can handle a lot of standing water include:

  • Acorus (Sweet flag)

  • Colocasia esculenta (Taro or elephant ear): In many climates, these are annuals, making them less desirable because you need to adjust the chain again after each replant.

  • Equisetum scirpoides (Dwarf horsetail rush): non-dwarf varieties of horsetail are fast growers and can take over quickly.

  • Juncus effusus (Curly rush)

  • Osmunda regalis (Royal fern): Royal fern can grow quickly but can also handle being crowded, making them good container plants.

The most important thing to put under a rock garden is the appropriate soil. The specific soil needed will depend on the type of plants you’re growing as well as the environment you live in. You can also put non-woven or woven fabric under the rocks to add to the garden's structural stability.
