"Let me tell you my experience with Quality Air & Insulation 843 333 8816 I have a development spec built house that was under air conditioned. I wanted to remove my 3 ton AC unit and gas furnace in the attic and installed a 4 ton Heat Pump system. Not hard to do easy. Remove one complete system install a new different system. I called and met with 6 qualified recommended HVAC contractors. Reviewed all pricing then started to discuss in detail their proposals and quoted HVAC system. I selected what we thought was the BEST of the BEST. I had the work scheduled on a day that turned out to be 95, then my wife and I had to be out of town crazy right ! What could go wrong ? Simple unplug, plug in and play LOL Well here is what happened- From Sal the owner to every mechanic Nick, Logan, Tyler, Hewitt, Dwayne and others they were PROFESSIONAL, HONEST, EXTREMELY QUALIFIED, CLEAN AS A WHISTLE, PLEASANT to SPEAK WITH, KEPT ME INFORMED and I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM for any and all your HVAC work you need. It was a seamless experience with a major installation of an important system necessary to have and not one problem not being home. Call and speak with Quality Air you will never go wrong. "Mike Hall dis a great job with my semi annual furnace/ac cleaning. He checked both inside and outside to make sure the systems and drains were in working order. He placed the order for the UV Blub and I got the call for serving appointment before he was out of the driveway. Thanks Swift. Mike is a good representative of your company."

"I was surprised that someone from Palmetto cooling responded as quickly as they did, and were able to get technicians to me in a day. The young men were punctual, and polite. I can't say I know what they did, but my air conditioning is working well"

"The technician's (Tim and Chaun) that did the installing of my HVAC were courteous and professional. Tim made sure everything was working to his satisfaction before he left and told us he would check back in a day or so to make sure it was functioning properly. My wife and myself very pleased. I should also state two years ago we had a new HVAC installed by Swift and continually had problems with it. After many service calls with little luck correcting the issue, Swift installed a new unit. Five more stars to Swift for integrity!"

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, mini-split or ductless AC systems add value to a home and do not devalue it. They are an attractive feature for potential buyers, especially in older homes without existing ductwork, as they provide a practical air conditioning solution without the significant expense and hassle of installing traditional ducts. Ductless systems also eliminate issues associated with conventional ductwork, such as noise and the potential for pests. Furthermore, homeowners value energy-efficient solutions, and mini-splits offer high efficiency for both heating and cooling, plus zoned temperature control. This leads to lower energy consumption and reduced electric bills, which is a major selling point.

Air conditioners can stop working in the middle of the night for many reasons. Your local power grid might shut down late at night. Power surges can also trip your breakers if too much power is being used in the area at the time. If your AC is connected to a digital thermostat, it gets naturally cooler at night, so the outdoor temperature might dip below the automated setting to turn the cooling system off.

Set your house temperature between 55 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit while on vacation, depending on the season. If it’s winter, don’t go below 55 degrees. In the summer, the best AC temperature for energy savings is no higher than 85 degrees. You can save anywhere from 10% to 15% on your energy costs by adjusting the temperature while you’re away. If you have a smart thermostat, set up vacation modes for each season. On your way home, turn off vacation mode to allow the home to warm up or cool down before you arrive.

No, a furnace is not the same thing as an AC, or air conditioner, but these are both parts of an HVAC system. They both use air ducts to transport cool or hot air around your home to achieve a comfortable temperature set by your thermostat. An AC runs on electricity, while a furnace can use different fuel sources.

To reset your air conditioner, start by turning it off at the thermostat. Then, shut off power to the AC system at the circuit breaker. Some units have a dedicated "reset" button; if yours does, press and hold it for three to five seconds. If your air conditioner doesn't have a reset button, or if you are resetting it after a power outage, leave the circuit breaker off for at least 30 minutes to allow the system to reset itself. Afterward, turn the power back on at the breaker, turn on the AC from the thermostat, and set it to "cool" to test the system.
