When we opened our doors in 1997, we had one goal in mind: to design custom integrated home security systems based entirely on the vision and needs of each of our clients. To that end, we decided we would provide the best security equipment available, offer the best possible customer service to our clients, and make security systems accessible and affordable to families and business owners. We’re proud to say that this driving philosophy remains the same – over 38,000 customers later. We continue to listen carefully to each of our customers before designing an integrated security system to meet their needs. At GuardMe Security, we take pride in our dedicated staff of trained professionals who serve as the foundation for our company. Each member of our staff does whatever it takes to exceed our customers’ expectations and deliver the highest quality products, installation, and service. Additional DBA - Guard Me Inc. Additional phone number - (732) 583-8445.

"They installed a camera and security system for me. The security system mostly works- though there'd been some weirdness here and there, but they are very slow at responding to help with system configuration issues. The install also took ~2x the time it should have due to poor planning on their part. The real issue are the cameras - poorly, incorrectly installed, and a sloppy job at that. I made my displeasure known - they are useless when it rains or snows - and they refuse to do anything about it. Add to that a 2x markup on end-of-life equipment, and I'm out. I'll end up replacing them myself and redoing the install job when the weather gets nicer. Long story short: when my monitoring agreement is up, I will move my business to another (DMP) integrator."

Gilstrap Roofing, Inc. has been serving Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, Laurens, and the rest of Upstate South Carolina for over 75 years; longer than any other roofing contractor accredited by the Better Business Bureau. Our company has spanned across four generations of the Gilstrap family, and we still hold the same values today as we did back when our company was founded in 1935. No individual or company is perfect, but we have always done our best to keep our customers happy and fix any problems that may arise as quickly as possible. Our dedication to complete customer satisfaction is the reason why a large portion of our business comes from previous customers or referrals. Our experienced team provides a range of repair and replacement services for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. We are skilled in shingle roofs, metal roofs, and flat roofs and can handle any size project. If you are looking for a full-service roofing contractor that has extensive experience and who is fully licensed, bonded, and insured, look no further than Gilstrap Roofing. Your satisfaction is our ultimate goal.

"Found one leak immediately after work was done and they did a good job responding and fixing the leak. However, they left a hole in the roof elsewhere where flashing was not installed correctly. This should have been found by their inspection after the work was done. That hole resulted in water coming down through a wall which caused significant damage to our main level wood floor and basement ceiling tiles. This water damage was not discovered until 6 years after installation—a year after the workmanship warranty had expired. I called them to fix it and they sent someone out promptly but their estimate to repair was too high. I called them back and asked if they could lower their quote considering the very poor workmanship and resulting damage to our house. They never called me back. I got someone else to do it and saved 30%."

Protecting homes and businesses since 1950, Guardian Protection is one of the nation's largest and most highly regarded security companies. We provide smart technology, 24/7 professional monitoring, and peace of mind to hundreds of thousands of customers. Our products are installed by experts, monitored by real people, and truly make a difference. We do what we do because of one simple truth: life is better when it's safe.

"We hired Guardian to install our security system at our Washington, DC, business. The service and quality of the work was horrible. We had cameras and an alarm system installed; it was a relatively large system. They outsource most of the work to various vendors. They could not manage their vendors; what was supposed to take a week took two months. The sales rep did not return calls, and you could never get anyone in management on the phone. Random people would show up at unannounced times. The few things that an actual Guardian employee did were they made a huge mess of our newly remodeled office and were rude to our staff. We have offices in five markets across the US and have high security at each; we have never had such a poor experience."

Home Security Systems questions, answered by experts

Wireless cameras will not work without an internet connection. A Wi-Fi camera uses the internet to transmit footage and store the information in cloud-based software. However, there are wireless cameras that you can buy that allow you to record and save footage on an SD card instead.

It depends on the type of sensor your home security system uses. If it’s a motion detector, any moving thing could set it off, from a roaming pet to a wind-blown curtain. Contact sensors would be triggered by the window being opened or moved. Also, be aware that any sensors placed too close to your vents could trigger false alarms whenever your heat or air conditioning is running.

A steel door that's been toughened up with extra materials creates the perfect barrier. These bad boys are way stronger than your typical wooden or fiberglass doors, making them a fantastic choice for folks who want that extra layer of security for their homes. So, if you're all about keeping things super secure, a reinforced steel door will cost you more, but it is your best bet.

Options include wired or wireless systems with night vision and motion detection.

In general, keyless door locks are considered safe. They can’t be picked like a traditional lock, and unless a thief can guess your code, it’s pretty tricky to break into a house with a keyless door lock. But that doesn’t mean they come without risk.

When asking yourself, "Are keyless door locks safe?” consider the style of the system. Hackers could potentially break in if it operates on Wi-Fi, but it’d take some time and effort. You’re also at risk for a power outage, depending on the type of lock. That being said, there are no more risks associated with keyless door locks than a traditional lock.
