Unlike many of our competitors, we also own and operate our own local central monitoring station located in Anderson, SC.

The good: the system is monitored locally, not halfway across the world. The salesperson was professional and prompt. The technicians called to say they were running about half an hour behind for installation, and we appreciate them calling.



The average: it took awhile to schedule the installation, which we wanted completed before a trip out west. Fortunately we were able to schedule one week before we left, but it was still several weeks after we met with the sales representative. Also, the system kept giving false alerts from the front door. They had used the wiring from our previous system, and there was a problem no one knew about. We had to go about a week without being able to use the system until a technician could get to us to rewire it. It has been fine since then.



The bad: two things do not work well. The smart phone/iPad app that is supposed to activate and deactivate the system is pathetic. It is a third-party app, not a Blue Ridge Security app. I hope they can come up with something better. Don't waste your money on the app. Also, the app is supposed to turn lights on and off wirelessly. Again, it does not work consistently (actually, it works rarely). The second time we had a technician come out, he said that the primary outlet that they use for lights is defective and the company that makes them were supposed to start shipping replacements the following week. That was several weeks ago, and we have not heard anything yet.

Blue Ridge Security Systems was professional, courteous, and very helpful from the first call all the way through to the monitoring. I would choose this company 100 times over their competitors. Tim Morgan is a very honest, respectful, and straight forward salesman with the company who was able to get my family a steep discount due to our situation. That's what I love about this company, they are like a family and one call to anyone at the company will get any issue resolved quickly. The installers were very quick, very clean, and experts of the system they installed. The entire install only took a few hours and we were up and running safer than ever. Thank you Blue Ridge for a great experience.

We asked three security companies to come talk with us, and David from Blue Ridge was by far the most knowledgeable. The other reps seemed to think what we really cared about was finding the cheapest or fastest company; David understood we were looking for the reliable company that would keep us most secure. We managed to complete the paperwork electtronically through email and fax, and the installer, Woody, came out yesterday.
The job had been scheduled for 10 AM to 2 PM, but Woody arrived early and almost immediately ran into some problems. He called for back-up, Jason arrived, and they worked around the problems. The four-hour job ended up taking  nine hours (our house was the obstacle, not the security system). Woody remained calm and professional throughout the entire day. When everything was completely installed, he went back to the site of each piece of equipment and made sure the area was cleaner than it had been before he started.
Before he left--and I'm sure he was hungry and exhausted--he patiently explained how all the equipment works. He never seemed stressed or eager to get away or anything other than happy to be solving problems and giving us an A+ system.
I will gladly recommend Blue Ridge. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

I was fortunate to discover Blue Ridge, since an Angie's list search under "Generator" did not turn them up. My wife encountered an advertisement in our newspaper's bi-weekly "Town" magazine just as I was about to contract with another company. 
Their estimator appeared when he said he would, did an expeditious though thorough site survey, and provided an estimate within a few days. 
[Note: I also had a "well-known company" whose estimator showed up and provided an estimate on-the-spot -- for $3700 more! In comparing offers from different companies that could do the work, Blue Ridge stands out because of their close association with the electric utility of the same name, the fact that they have crews who do only generator installation, their policy to install to code and be inspected, and their factory-trained installers and service people. They were not the lowest bid received, but they clearly offered the most value for money.]
The Blue Ridge crews showed up on time, did their work efficiently, and were thoroughly professional, courteous, and respectful of both the worksite and our neighbors, parking off the street and doing their work quietly. They left the site cleaner and more orderly than they found it.
It was clear in talking with the installation crew that they had done this before. The factory-trained final installer was a fount of knowledge about the system, how it works, and what to expect during operation.
While I view this installation as an insurance policy against the power ever going out again, I'm pretty sure that it will be needed during our winter ice storms and frequent summer thunderstorms, and am confident that we made the right choice in selecting Blue Ridge.

Blue Ridge personnel were extremely courteous and professional.  The installers were incredible.  On the day of installation, we were home with our 2 kids and 4 or 5 other children (in a not-so-large house).  the installers worked around us and installed 95% of the system in one day in spite of the obvious distractions.  The service so far has been flawless.  Example:  I set the alarm one day in a hurry without noticing I bypassed a zone (I had unintentionally left the front door open).  Before I got off my porch, the monitoring center called me to ask if that was my intention and I was able to disarm and close/lock the door.  I cannot more highly recommend any company with which I have done business.

Had blue ridge come out to give a bid after trying 2 other providers, one of which was overpriced and the other obviously didn't know the product well. Dave Clark was punctual, friendly and very knowledgeable. He got the bid to me promptly, and was within the price range I had in mind. Once I signed the contract, it took several weeks to get the unit in due to high seasonal demand up north. A scheduler called me to arrange a site visit once the unit arrived. I met the technicians at my house, and showed them where the electrical and gas service are located, and where the hvac units and electrical panels are. Once they had that information, everything began to happen without the need for me to be around. They custom poured a concrete pad for the unit because the location is on a slope. A few days later they posted the permit and placed the unit. Over the course of roughly a week the installation was completed. I met the technician again to be trained on operation and maintenance, and signed off on the installation. I was exceptionally impressed with their skill and professionalism which shows in the finished install.
