"We had a leaking pipe and Jay came out within hours of my call. Charged a fair price for patching up the line so we wouldn't be without water for the night. We liked his work and customer service so much that we got him to repipe our house. He did a fantastic job at an awesome price. He also put in our new kitchen faucet. He's fair, honest, and hard-working. You don't need to look any further."

"The Angie's List coupon for this company made this the least expensive check I have had in the 4 years I have had it done. This is all this company does - ie, no other type of plumbing - so they were efficient and cost effective. They also gained me as a customer by providing the one time coupon and showing they could do the service better than any prior company.

"Other than some delays and a hiccup with the counter installation, it went relatively smoothly.  The remodeled kitchen look very much  like the design we had in mind and is surprisingly bright and spacious.  In this project we tore out a 50+ year old kitchen (knotty pine walls & cabinets, worn-out formica, ancient appliances).   We wanted a larger window for more light & to rearrange the counter layout.  We had planned this for several years and had done a lot of homework on cabinetry, appliances, tiling choices, etc., which paid off in spades: we know what we wanted done at nearly every step along the way.  The only exception was the replacement window; after roughing out the larger opening, the replacement (vinyl) window Mike came up with had no more glass than the original - the difference in size was all absorbed by the oversized framing.  We did more research and found a better window from a different vendor for not much extra money that suited our needs.  This did cause a delay in the progress - can't finish interior trim with only a temporary window.  Mike's crews were, for the most part, professional, efficient, and hard working - the plumber stayed until nearly midnight one night to finish his part so that the sheet rockers could do their thing the next day.  There were a few glitches - some outlets & light switches were not hooked up correctly the first time (easily fixed), a few cabinet doors were dinged and needed to be reordered (more delays), the main countertop slab was scratched & needed to be replaced (took some convincing but the installer's attempt to "buff it out" only made it worse; more delays) - but eventually everything fell into place.

"It went very well. Les is a professional. He is a master tile and floor guy. He looks at it as if it is art and is very precise and wants to be sure it is just right. It will take him awhile so as another reviewer said if you are in a hurry probably not your guy but if you want an exquisite job done by a true professional Les is the right person. He is very fair on pricing and will let you buy things for him to install at no mark up. He had frame less shower done by third party without a mark up. While his specialty is flooring and tile he was more than capable of doing framing, painting, installed a pocket door etc.

He can do it all and it is all top notch. Can do light plumbing but works a lot through Servant Plumbing who are also fantastic. See separate review of there work I have submitted. Les was on this project off and on for a few months . The total project cost was over $30,000 but his piece was as shown above give or take some. He was very fair on his pricing of all add ons which were numerous and in a lot of cases didn't even charge for things because he just thought that it would make it look better. We get rave reviews on the remodel, especially on how the tile looks in the new large shower. Thanks Les for your diligence. Hope to work with you again soon."

"Had an issue with my second floor air handler during the cold spells after calling a couple of companies on the list C&C Myers had a technician out to my home within the hour. I was offered a fix or an entirely new system. I opted for the new system. It was installed on the first available business day with no rain. Clean and professional. Very happy.

"WOW! Being on a fixed income you know EVERY dollar is important to me! I'd wanted and DRASTICALLY needed a bathroom remodel for YEARS but assumed it was WAY out of my budget! Curious though, I went shopping. Most companies estimates confirmed my worries about cost, and while some were affordable they lacked in other areas - quality, customer service, warranty, etc. When I related my findings to a friend he said members of their family had work done by a company called Intelligent Home Services and HIGHLY recommend them! His family was not only overjoyed with all aspects of the company but it increased the value of their home by much more than what it cost! So, I contacted IHS, everyone was so nice, informative, and helpful! They arranged financing was straightforward, explained and everything. It was great from start to finish! In fact I was SO HAPPY that I had Intelligent Home Services install a Screened Patio cover! EXCELLENT VALUE- THE BEST!!!"

"After being ignored by some companies we called and given a $15,000 estimate over the phone by another (without ever coming to see the area needing work) David came when he said he would, gave us an estimate and told us when he could start work.

This is a very small room (5' x 5' 6") and a tight squeeze. Part of the floor had fallen in, the toilet was unusable and the room was unsafe. (Did I mention it is our ONLY bathroom?)

David and his crew took out the old fixtures, took walls down to the studs, took up what was left of the floor. There were beams that needed replacing and some wiring that sparked a remark of "you're lucky you haven't had a fire". This was also fixed.

We went from a tub/shower to strictly a shower, new toilet with water saving features and sink. The floor was tiled in a nice textured black porcelain and the walls tiled halfway in white porcelain. Not an easy job in an older house with no 'true' walls. The crew came in every day and worked until my husband had to go to work. They cleaned up after themselves and made this, if not an enjoyable, at least a tolerable situation.

We are very pleased with the results."

"There was broken concrete underneath and he had to hand cut everything so that it was leveled and so water would drain out properly. He didn't even charge me extra for that! He did a wonderful job and is a true professional. He was so particular and wanted to make sure everyting was just right. The deck looks great and I would give him my highest recommendation.

He did such a great job on the porch I hired him to replace two sinks for me and to do the ceramic tile work in the bathrooms and countertop. This was another tricky job as the sinks were handpainted. He did a perfect job in cutting out the tile as well. He is one of the best."

"Joe from JMS Drain Services was my service technician who arrived well within the window scheduled service time. Joe came in, inspected the sink to determine how to resolve my issue, took out the tool (snake apparatus) to clear the sink, and departed my premises within 15 minutes. I was pleased he resolved my clogged sink so quickly so I could rest after a night's work. Thank you again, Joe."

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

The time it takes to install a sink depends on whether you hire a professional or do it yourself, as well as the complexity of the job. A professional plumber can typically install a sink in 1 to 4 hours, with most routine jobs taking around 1 to 2 hours. However, more complicated installations will take longer. Projects that involve rerouting plumbing, installing an under-mount sink, or making countertop modifications can take a full day. Installing a sink with a prefab vanity could also stretch the project to 6 to 8 hours. If you plan to install the sink yourself, you should set aside 4 to 6 hours, though it could take longer. It's also recommended to have a friend help, especially if you are working with a heavy sink made of a material like porcelain.

Any drain in your house requires a water trap to prevent sewer gases from entering the home. Dishwashers don’t have an internal water trap, so they must use an external P trap. The most convenient P trap for the dishwasher is already in the plumbing under your sink.

Yes, you can install an undermount sink with laminate. Installing an undermount sink with laminate countertops requires a superior adhesive to keep moisture away from the particleboard within the countertop. An undermount sink offers better hygiene since there’s no sink rim promoting bacteria growth, offers a streamlined appearance, and makes wiping away messes a breeze.

The best material to use will depend on your budget and style goals. Fireclay is a great choice but is expensive and heavy. Stainless steel is less expensive and more durable, but lacks the wow factor a clay sink might. Copper is very expensive but lasts a long time and has a striking appearance. Those looking for an industrial look can go with concrete, or those looking for a classic design might choose porcelain.

Deteriorated seals, O-rings, or gaskets are common culprits behind a leaky sink after you’ve turned off the water—especially if your sink is older than 15 years. Inspect each of these mechanisms in your sink for signs of corrosion or looseness, then replace the worn-out part to fix it. Older sinks may be worth replacing if several of the parts are worn-out.
