Excellent, very pleased with the job. This was my fourth job with Carolina Boys, 2 bath remodels, one deck replacement and this. David is completely trustworthy, I just gave him the key to the house as we were out of town for a week. When we got back the job was complete, including extra molding he put in, all the mess was cleaned up, and it looks great.

Very nice job, worked with me to get exactly what I wanted. Finished in about 20 hours total, two men. David and his assistant did all the work. Removed all old material from job site. Cleaned up all debris. I though the price was right.

BEWARE: David Johnson is not licensed or insured!! He will take your money and rip you off. He uses cheap supplies and does a half a** job!!! DO NOT GIVE HIM ANY MONEY UP FRONT!!! YOU WILL NOT GET IT BACK!!! After being recommeded by his daughter...I hired him to renovate my home down to the subflooring, replace all flooring with hardwoods and do a complete kitchen renovation. He required $10,000 up front (to purchase supplies, he said) and he then used the cheapest supplies possible and did half a** work. By the 3rd day of showing up at least 1-2 hrs late and leaving early, he intended to leave my home in shambles over a three day weekend, including leaving all trash and flooring debris on my front porch. They were not doing quality work, or using quality suppiles, or getting much done. I realized I needed to cancel the job. I then had to hunt him down, as he refused to return my phone calls. He refused to return any money to me and told me to get an attorney if I wanted my money back. So I did. I took him to court and WON!!! I now have a judgement against him. He appealed the first judgment, we went back to court and I won again!! I also found out, Im the second person in line that has a judgement against him. He should not be performing the work he does without a license. It is against South Carolina state law to perform any construction job over $5,000 without a valid license.
What prompted me to write this, was running into he and his wife at Costco today. When I walked passed him, I asked if he was still ripping people off ..to which he smugly replied "Everday..." (need I say more?) Then as I was leaving, his wife stopped me, to rub it in my face that they recently sold their house without paying off my judgment..... Please know Mrs. Johnson, I will be having my attorney contact the closing attorney to find out why my judgment was not paid...so dont go celebrating just yet. Although, even if I never recieve my money back from this crooked contractor, I am extremely satisfied in taking him to court and proving him wrong! Since this has happened, I have met several other contrators and people that have had similar experiences with him. Please beware!

After being ignored by some companies we called and given a $15,000 estimate over the phone by another (without ever coming to see the area needing work) David came when he said he would, gave us an estimate and told us when he could start work.
This is a very small room (5' x 5' 6") and a tight squeeze. Part of the floor had fallen in, the toilet was unusable and the room was unsafe. (Did I mention it is our ONLY bathroom?)
David and his crew took out the old fixtures, took walls down to the studs, took up what was left of the floor. There were beams that needed replacing and some wiring that sparked a remark of "you're lucky you haven't had a fire". This was also fixed.
We went from a tub/shower to strictly a shower, new toilet with water saving features and sink. The floor was tiled in a nice textured black porcelain and the walls tiled halfway in white porcelain. Not an easy job in an older house with no 'true' walls. The crew came in every day and worked until my husband had to go to work. They cleaned up after themselves and made this, if not an enjoyable, at least a tolerable situation.
We are very pleased with the results.

They were very punctual and professional. They showed up when they said they would and the quality of their work was excellent. We will not hesitate to use them in the future.

It was pretty much a positive experience. The price was a little high for the amount of work that was done. Other than that the work was satisfactory. They came out immediately and got the work done right away. They were on time. I would probably use them again.

The job went great. David showed up promptly to provide the quote. He arrived on time daily and finished accroding to his projected date. The workmanship was very good. The price was very good. He was a pleasure to work with and I would hire him again. There were no hidden costs or delys in the project. I am very satisfied.

Started project when promised and showed up every day until finished. Cleaned up as they went. Very professional. Had some great ideas for saving money on the project. Finished product was great.

David and Anthony were excellent workers. Very detailed and thorough. Both worked "clean" and cleaned up afterwards. When encountering complications or unexpected situations, they corrected what needed to be fixed before moving on with the project. Both courteous and cheerful individuals. We are grateful for their work!

David responded promptly to my original call for an estimate, and came out the next day to view the job and hear exactly what is was we needed him to do. He called me the following week with the estimate. He made another trip out so that I could pick out a countertop color, and made arrangements on when the work would start. Part of the reason we choose Carolina Boys was due to the fact that the same 2 people would be showing up everyday to do the work. We were very pleased with everything that David and Anthony did for us, especially considering that putting down new flooring was not part of the original plan that we arranged. David was very easy to get along with, didn't hesitate to make any corrections or adjustments as the work went along and even came back by the house to make sure I was happy the day the work was completed as I was not home when they finished. I truly feel that they did their best to make sure we were happy with not only the end product, but throughout the process. I would recommend Carolina Boys to anyone, and will definitely keep them in mind for any future projects.

David was very professional from his assessment of the problem to the final installation. He was able to get tile that was on sale for us to help reduce the cost. Also, he was able to arrange his schedule to have the work completed in time for new tenants to move in.

Excellent! The owner came to the house when he said he would to give me a quote and discussed with me ways to save money. He came in well under everyone else also. Once I decided to go with his company he showed up at my condo when he said he would and got right to work. What made it better was that I had a renter in there and he did everything in his power to not disrupt her living space and was extremely professional. He removed all flooring, put furniture back, next day came back and installed the new flooring and put the furniture back again. He was done a day and a half earlier than expected.

Good job overall. Came when we scheduled, on time and finished in about 10 days. Ceramic floors were great, tub surround could have been a little neater, but for the price, good job. He was very competive on the pricing.

I was only going to have them close in the porch and fix the drywall. I added the stonework and it was more money. They do very good work and it looks nice. They did the work in two days. The boss is a worker and he works alongside his employees. He has two employees. The white guy has worked with him for over twenty years. The black guy has worked for him for ten or fifteen years. He has long term employees and he works with the crew. I was going to ask them if they would give me a price on doing a garage for a golf cart.

He estimated 3 weeks or so, it took about 4 1/2. All work was done by the owner himself working alone. That was fine with us as you get a better product that way. We did not insist on a speedier job. All work is professional and we are quite satisfied. The quote and final price were exactly the same, no overruns. He was much more competitive on the bid than some others. He worked well with the owner who did the painting at the same time with no problems or conflicts.
