"Wall-to-wall carpeting upstairs & two wool area rugs on the hardwood floors downstairs. Tony and Anthony Were prompt for their appointment extremely professional and did an excellent job cleaning the upstairs carpets and the two downstairs wool area rugs. Tony also did an excellent job fixing a poor wall-to-wall carpet installation done by a vendor prior he fixed all of their mistakes. carpet looks great, carpet is so clean it looks like the day we moved into the house."

"The work took 6 days instead of 3-4, as quoted, due to the fact that they had to re-sand and apply polyurethane two additional times to get rid of the tiny grain like bumps that appeared once the floor dried. This meant having our home in disarray, dealing with toxic fumes and having our pets locked up for all these days. When we asked why there were all these bumps in the polyurethane, the owner said he did not know what caused them. You would think that a business that "claims" to specialize in wood floor installation would know these things. Other issues. Sloppy application of stain and polyurethane, that ran down the sides of staircase. The workers put a hole in wall, they did a poor job of patching it up. Cracked our baseboard molding. (poor repair job) Scuffed up all of inside entrance existing wood floor, which they denied causing. I have tried several solutions to remove all the scuffs, but I have to now hire a company to buff out my entrance hall area. Overall, this company was overpriced for what we got! The other company that we should have gone with included moving furniture, painting risers and spindles of staircase as part of the installation. And the price would have been close to IC Flooring. Now I am interviewing painters for the next step in completing this project; patching, repairing and painting all of which could have been done as part of the floor job. I feel that the rating we gave this company was more than fair."

"Anthony came out and cleaned our carpets. We have been in this house since 2002 and the carpets now look like they did when we first moved in! Seriously they look awesome. I have 1 English Mastiff and 3 cats, and 2 kids and they now look fantastic! Great price and the company was very professional and on time. :) I would highly recommend them to anyone thinking about getting floors cleaned.

"Both vehicles were quite dirty, especially the SUV.  It had stains on the cloth seats and floors that I thought had no chance of ever coming out - I was just hoping that Melvin and crew could make it look a little better.  I was more than surprised when they were able to get the stains out completely!  Both cars look great.  They did a fantastic job and I thought the price (a discount is given for more than one car) was very reasonable.  It's also very convenient that they come to you.  I will definitely use them again."

"It was awesome! He was on time and professional but most importantly, I thought I would get rid of the furniture, now, I won't. I want to have him come back and steam clean my laminate floors."

"Amazing! Attention to detail, professional, prompt arriving exactly when promised. Have had other companies that worked on cleaning floor following major renovation. Sir Grout rode in on his white charger and rescued us. They moved furniture while cleaning and actually moved everything back after finishing exactly where I wanted. My floors never looked so good! They were worth every penny. 4 rooms done."

"After obtaining 3 estimates we felt confident that Moore Home Services would be able to help us solve the problem of moisture and mold in our crawl space for the best price.  Our heat pump had also started to show mold issues and this was the determining factor.

Austin, Danny and their crew arrived as scheduled and spent one entire day removing debris and cleaning mold out of the crawl space.  They were professional, friendly and hauled away all the debris--old pieces of lumber, roof tiles.

On day 2 they placed plastic poly sheeting along the floor and under the heat pump with the understanding that it would be 6 inches up the walls on all sides to provide a moisture barrier.  They also installed a dehumidifier and a hygrometer with indoor display so we could monitor the humidity level without having to go down under the house as often.

On looking at the work, initially, we were pleased with the results.  Everything looked clean and dry.  We realized later that the plastic was short a couple of inches on one wall.  Because of this water continued to puddle in front of the crawl space door and in 2 other areas where the seams were leaking.  I emailed Danny and later left a phone message for Jon, who was my original contact.   Danny did not respond and Jon called about 2 weeks later.  By that time I had completed the job myself by adding plastic where it was lacking and over the leaky seams.

We had also asked for the paperwork for the dehumidifier and hygrometer (owners manual, purchase receipt, anything for reference) and were told that we would get it.  They left with the promise of a follow up visit in 3 weeks to check on the job.  Jon finally came over and saw what had been and not been done.  I asked him for some reference paperwork for the dehumidifier and he wrote down the serial number and model numbers.

We recently discovered in the local newspaper that the dehumidifier had been recalled because of fire hazard.  I called him and he promptly replaced it and gave me the appropriate paperwork.

Floor Sanding questions, answered by experts

The small lines on the tape measure either indicate inches, fractions of an inch, or centimeters and millimeters. On the imperial unit side (aka the inches side), the longest lines indicate inches, followed by the next shortest lines that indicate a half-inch, and then the quarter, eighth, and sixteenth-inch. On the metric side, the lines break down meters, centimeters, and millimeters.

Land surveys are worth it in several scenarios including selling your home, building an addition, constructing a fence, or making major changes to your landscape. A professional land survey can help you avoid legal issues with your neighbors and confirm the value of your property. In many cases, you may be required to order a land survey to receive a construction permit or mortgage loan.

Soil testers and licensed excavators are often the professionals you hire if you need a perc test. In some cases, structural engineers will also be able to conduct the test for you. In many municipalities, you’ll need your professional on-site to dig and fill the holes with water, as well as a representative from your local building department or health department. That representative is the individual who will determine whether your test passes or fails.

Land surveys don’t technically expire. They do serve as a point of reference and a snapshot of your property, though, so as soon as you make changes to your property (and even if your neighbor makes certain changes to theirs), your existing land survey becomes inaccurate, and a new one must be done. Even if you don’t make any changes to your property, many states only guarantee the accuracy of a land survey for five to ten years.

ALTA/ACSM surveys are the most comprehensive type of land survey and, as such, tend to be the most expensive. These surveys have standardized guidelines and reports and are used in many kinds of real estate transactions to ensure consistent and accurate information is available for properties.
