I called John Monday morning. He met me at noon that same day to provide an estimate, and he started the next morning. Work was finished by noon on Thursday, and he threw in extras such as putting a coat on the decorative wood around the stairs - he even fed the cats. The floors look amazing! He was polite, professional and friendly. The expense was very fair for the work completed. I will definitely call him again.

John and his team arrived at 9:30 in the morning on the day promised. It took the team approximately 1 hour to take up our existing carpet, and get the floor ready for the new hardwoods. The delivery of the wood was delayed, so they were delayed by approx 1/2 an hour before they could start the installation of the floors. After the materials arrived, the job went as expected after that, and the entire job was finished by approximately 7:30 pm. The new wood flows seamlessly into the previously existing floors. The installer did a particularly excellent job lining up the wood in the dining room with the existing wood in the hallway. The clean up of the floors and the outside cutting area was very good. We asked if some speaker wires could be tucked under the baseboards, and they did a great job making sure that was done.

We used John Capatina and I C Hardwood Floors in the past and were very pleased. We did not hesitate to use them again, and we were again very pleased. John and his worker worked Friday and Saturday to refinish the floor while we were out of town. John's prices are still excellent and we spent less than we thought we would. They did a great job and the floors are beautiful!

John gave 2 estimates and set a date to install floor. He suggested that I save money by picking a quality flooring and buying it myself. The job was done in one day and went well!

He suggested that I go out and obtain the hw floor and it would save me alot of $$$, which it did. The crew was great and completed the work within the timeframe and the final costs was exactly as the quote. At the end of the job John insisted that we both do a final walk thru review before he accepted payment.

Called Ioan (John) on 8/28, he came out to look at the problem and give me a quote on 9/1. He and his crew were at the house the next morning at 9AM and worked until about 7PM with only a brief stop for lunch. The crew came back at 9AM the following morning to buff out the first finish coat they had put down the previous afternoon and put down the final finish coat. Ioan thought the job might take three days, it took far less than two and looks fantastic. The crew covered up everything they could draped plastic over the door openings and did their very best to clean up after themselves, they were extremely nice and very efficient. Yes, we got some dust that we had to vacuum but it was not bad and far-far less than our previous experience.

The job was great. They came out on time and they did a good job. It would have been good to have some better communication as far as the dust that would be involved and the coats of varnish or stain, they had a terrible odor and these were applied late in the afternoon. We were at a disadvantage to be away from the house when the odor was the worst. The other issue being the molding around the floor between the floor and the wall. There was some bad color matching and they used a succession of shorter pieces, we had to have the owner come out and fix this for us. He did it and did a good job though. They seemed to be a bit of a higher price.

They stripped it down. It was a dining room, kitchen with eating area and a powder room that they refinished. It took 2 1/2 days. It wasn't dusty. There was a slight color difference, but they advised me ahead of time of that. It wasn't as much as I thought it might be.

The work took 6 days instead of 3-4, as quoted, due to the fact that they had to re-sand and apply polyurethane two additional times to get rid of the tiny grain like bumps that appeared once the floor dried. This meant having our home in disarray, dealing with toxic fumes and having our pets locked up for all these days. When we asked why there were all these bumps in the polyurethane, the owner said he did not know what caused them. You would think that a business that "claims" to specialize in wood floor installation would know these things. Other issues. Sloppy application of stain and polyurethane, that ran down the sides of staircase. The workers put a hole in wall, they did a poor job of patching it up. Cracked our baseboard molding. (poor repair job) Scuffed up all of inside entrance existing wood floor, which they denied causing. I have tried several solutions to remove all the scuffs, but I have to now hire a company to buff out my entrance hall area. Overall, this company was overpriced for what we got! The other company that we should have gone with included moving furniture, painting risers and spindles of staircase as part of the installation. And the price would have been close to IC Flooring. Now I am interviewing painters for the next step in completing this project; patching, repairing and painting all of which could have been done as part of the floor job. I feel that the rating we gave this company was more than fair.

Went very smoothly. The finishing material has a fairly strong odor and the sanding creates a fair amount of dust but they hold it to a minimum.

Their price was good. Basically, they told me that you would not see a difference between the old and the new, so I was thrilled. When they applied the finish, the difference was totally obvious. So, they said to change the finish to make it noticeably darker and that would fix it. It did fix it quite well.

Owner failed to explain that "buffing" floors would not remove speckles of paint from the floor. Consequently, when I arrived to inspect the work, I discovered that his workers had sealed the floors on top of the speckles of paint (which, of course, is now my problem to cure). His workers failed to clean up their trash, and one of them caused the toilet to clog with solid human waste -- without saying a word about it and leaving it for my subsequent surprise. In response, the owner told me to use Liquid Plumber and failed to apologize for his workers' unprofessionalism. Another surprise was that the owner expects to be paid in CASH for the price he quotes (which he doesn't tell you until the work is completed). You can pay by check, but the cost increases significantly. He became perturbed when I had to wait until the following business day to withdraw funds from the bank. Who carries around $1,000 in cash?!?! I'm sure the IRS would find his preference for cash very interesting.

I thought that he did a great job. The match of the stain was as close as you can expect. It took them only three days from start to finish so we could move our furniture back in. We were impressed with the materials that they used and the floors look beautiful.
