The new finish is BEAUTIFUL. The floors look better than when they were new! The old finish was a traditional, semi-gloss, golden oil-based finish. The new one is matte, more transparent/colorless water-based finish. Had a couple spots on the final coat, they came back no questions asked and corrected. Very professional and always on time. From start to finish everything went smoothly and on time. Carpet in office was removed and replaced with wood floors to match the other wood floors on our main level. Could not have had a better match having to match 25 year old wood floors. They looked perfect. Excellent job. Highly professional and prompt. I will use again in the future.

I was very happy with it.  They do what they say they will do and they are reasonable in the market.  I wouldn't call anybody else.  I am hard to please and I have a little concern on one area; that wasn't a question, they came out and they fixed it.  They were prompt in taking care of it and wanted to make sure that I was happy with the job.

We hired this company to remove carpet from our Master Bedroom and closet and install hardwood to match the existing hardwood in our home.  From estimate to completion we could not have had better service or be more pleased.  They outlined the process and timeline in detail and in writing along with a specific estimate of the project cost.  We had other estimates in which the companies said they would be in and out in 1 day and would match the floor as closely as possible at a much higher cost.  Helms examined our existing hardwood and explained that in order to keep the floor consistent and properly install it,  they would need to bring the wood in and allow it to acclimate for 7 days before beginning the installation  and that it would not be wise to rush the process.  We were anxious to get the floor done but decided to trust the experts and we are so glad that we did.  The final product speaks for itself and it couldn't possibly match any closer.  You would never know the floors were not all installed simultaneously.  They did a spectacular job and we would definitely recommend this company to anyone considering any type of hardwood flooring project. They know their craft, they deliver what they promise at a reasonable cost. and the quality of their work in phenomenal.  If you need hardwood flooring pick up the phone and call Helms Flooring and you will not be disappointed.

Our home, built in 2002 had oak floors throughout the bottom floor done in a 'golden' coloring. We found this to be very old fashioned and traditional and would suit most homeowners just fine but we wanted to update the look of the home to a very contemporary/modern look. We wanted black flooring. After speaking with multiple contractors, we were told that the level of darkness we were looking to achieve would not be possible without either replacing the floor with a manufactured product or by using a special stain (which most did not/would not use) combined with a dye (all of which said they did not/would not use).
All except for Larry Helms. He was the only contractor I could find in the area who had experience in the use of dyes. However the price was steeper than other contractors. Thus we hired another company to do our master bedroom upstairs as a trial run. They did not have access to either the special stain or the dye and indeed they failed to achieve the look we were after. Thus I hired Larry to do the downstairs and we couldn't be happier with the outcome.
I would say that if you are looking for a complicated or non-traditional job, Larry Helms is the person to speak to and I'm sure the run of the mill jobs will be no challenge at all for his talent.

They did a great job. Sanded off old finish, which was dark, and brought them back to natural. Their work

was excellant every step of the way and when they were finished you would have thought they were new floors. I am extremely happy with their workmanship and the quality of the job.
This was the first time I had worked with them and I will surely use them again. Great team, great job!

Larry Helms Company sanded, stained, sealed, and finished surface with polyurethane. They also replaced all shoe moulding with pre-primed shoe moulding and thresholds. The area was just over 1000 square feet. They were very efficient and the floors look wonderful!

I’ve used them previously and they’ve been around for a number of years. They did a wonderful job. They cleaned up any mess. I have no complaints at all. Everything about them was fine so that's why I used them repeatedly.
