"It went great. Milher arrived promptly and began work immediately. They were phenomenal with how they deconstructed the fence and rebuilt the fence in a timely manner. They asked my input before securing the fence. They made sure all measurements were correct. What I am most impressed by was how they raised up my existing fence in areas that weren’t providing me any privacy. What surprised me more so was the fact they cleaned up, shoveled, and raked up remnants of where the fence previously stood. They were excellent. Awesome!!!"

Customers say: Quality work

"We recently had an aluminum fence installed around our pool with 3 gates, and we could not be happier with the experience. The crew was professional, on time, and paid close attention to detail. The fence looks amazing, feels very sturdy, and completely elevated the look of our backyard oasis. The gates open and close perfectly, and the entire process was smooth from start to finish. Highly recommend!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

In Myrtle Beach, most fencing projects require a permit from the City of Myrtle Beach Planning Department, especially if the fence exceeds 7 feet or is located in a flood or coastal zone. Horry County Zoning may also have requirements if your property is outside city limits. Always consult both the Planning Department and your homeowners association to confirm specific fence permit and documentation needs before starting your project.

Helpful?

Before starting a fencing project in Myrtle Beach, confirm property boundaries with a recent survey and review guidelines from the City of Myrtle Beach Planning Department and your HOA. Gather all required documents, such as site plans and neighbor notifications if needed. Submit your permit application early and verify any flood zone restrictions with Horry County Zoning to avoid project delays or compliance issues.

Helpful?

Fencing in Myrtle Beach requires proactive maintenance to withstand coastal weather. Inspect fences each spring for corrosion or storm damage, and clean surfaces to prevent mold and mildew. For wood fences, reapply sealant annually; for vinyl or aluminum, rinse with fresh water to remove salt buildup. The Horry County Zoning office recommends trimming vegetation and checking for loose posts after storms to extend your fence's lifespan.

Helpful?

For fencing projects in Myrtle Beach, vinyl and aluminum are top choices due to their resistance to salt air, humidity, and strong winds common in coastal SC. Wood can work if pressure-treated and sealed annually. Ask local suppliers about materials rated for wind and salt exposure, and verify with the City of Myrtle Beach Planning Department that your selected materials comply with local building codes and fence regulations.

Helpful?

In Myrtle Beach, common fencing mistakes include neglecting to obtain permits from the City of Myrtle Beach Planning Department, misidentifying property lines, and choosing materials not rated for coastal conditions. Setting fence posts too shallow in sandy soil can cause instability. Overlooking HOA or Horry County Zoning requirements may result in fines or removal. Careful planning and compliance with local fence regulations help prevent these costly errors.
