"Mr. Wadford was and is very responsive to any query or request. He was always on time as was the installer. He was very patient and thorough in explaining the system operation and Bluetooth software. He insured that I understood everything and answered any and all questions. I have only had the system for a short time but it is performing perfectly. This project is to replace n old system. This new system cost $1500 less than the 20 year old system it replaced. The Wadford Water Works provides a quality system as well as quick, efficient and professional installation. I am thoroughly pleased with my decision with my choice to do business with Mr. Wadford."

"The company does great work. I am please with the work. They worked fast and were very friendly. They will be installing more lights for me in the near future. The lights that I bought for him to install in the kitchen doesn’t light up the kitchen enough, so since I liked the design of light so much the owner suggested that i place the same exact light in another area of the kitchen. Great idea. He was hundreds dollars cheaper than other quotes that I received. They do wonderful work. I have already recommended him to my sister that needs electrical work."

"I had four electrical outlets that were not working. I scheduled an appointment with Tony from Trident Electric. He called me about an hour before my appointment to see if I was available so he could come early. I was, so he came right over. He immediately got to work troubleshooting my electrical problem. It was a complicated problem, because there was a disconnected or broken wire somewhere in the wall. However, he was able to fix the problem, and all of my electrical outlets are now working. Tony cleaned up after himself, and he is very courteous and knowledgeable. And this was all done for a very reasonable price! I will definitely call Trident Electric again for any electrical problems."

"Electrician was prompt and friendly. Worked very quickly. I had purchased a full day and he had gotten through most of my items by the mid-day point. A couple of my ceiling fan light kits were not working properly and needed a little extra attention to troubleshoot. Also the doorbell I had purchased needed a transformer in order to complete install. The tech was eager to leave and said he would come back another day if wanted him to. When I tried to schedule a follow up, he was booked up for at least the next 3 weeks. I was disappointed that since I had paid and booked for a full day, he didn't stick around long enough for me to run to the store and get whatever supplies might be needed so the job could be finished that day. Also after he left, we realized one of the regular light fixtures that was installed wasn't working. Considering I paid for a full day and only got a half day of work, and had to pay someone else to come back and finish the job, I don't feel like I got a great deal."

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

The amount of time a standby generator can run continuously is around 3,000 hours on average. However, standby generators can generally run indefinitely as long as they have a continuous fuel supply. Generators hooked up to a home’s natural gas supply are the best option for extended usage, as these won’t rely on a finite fuel supply based on how much you have in storage. Generators running on liquid propane or diesel won’t last as long, as these require fuel storage and regular refueling to stay running.

Many services include assembling the unit and securing it in the window. Confirm with your provider.

Whole-house generators need to be installed on level ground several feet away from walls and other objects. Because they tap into the electrical system directly, they usually need to be close to your home electrical panel for a transfer switch installation. It also helps with installation if they are near to a gas line or propane tank installation.

Natural gas and electricity rates vary significantly based on location, and pricing can change over time, too. It’s possible that in locations where natural gas is particularly inexpensive, it will cost less than grid-based electricity will. However, you should also factor in the generator’s initial costs and maintenance needs, as well as its noise level and if it can comfortably power all your home appliances.

Generally, you’ll want to keep between 60 and 70 feet between the generator and the transfer switch. There are a few reasons for this, including:

  • The distance reduces the noise coming from the generator into your home.

  • It increases efficiency because you won’t have a voltage drop from this short of a distance.

  • Prevents carbon monoxide poisoning: keep at least 15 feet between your generator and an open window.
