A thermostat we installed was the same as the previous model (installed by another company). He took a long time to explain to us that the model we had wasn't the right one for our system and why. He is the first contractor to explain how our system is different. He replaced the thermostat with a different model. The price for the service call with the Angie's list discount was good. We could have purchased a new thermostat for less, but he told us that, and we went ahead since he was here, honest, and so informative. I will definitely call them again."

"My downstair's airconditioning unit stopped worked.  I called another company that I had used before.  They took several days to come to the house.  They inspected the system and said I needed a new evaporator coil for the unit.  He also said my unit was 3 pounds low on freon, which he could replace at  $89 per pound.  But he said I would lose it when they replaced the coil since it couldn't be saved.  I thought I needed another opinion so I told him I would think about it and let him know.  In the meantime he called his office to ask them to give me an estimate on the cost of the coil.  I then called Tuck & Howell.  The tech came out that same afternoon.  He checked the whole system and agreed the problem was the evaporator coil.  He gave me a couple of options but I decided to go ahead and replace it.  He called his office for an estimate, which I got within the hour.  I arranged for him to install the unit two days later, which he did. He also checked the freon and said it was about 2 pounds low, which he could replace at $39 for the first pound and $15 a pound therafter (opposed to $89 per pound the other company charged).  He said he could save it when he replaced the evaporator coil so it wouldn't be wasted.  That allowed me to restart the airconditioning unit that same day to cool down my house that day.    He was on time for the appointment, had everything he needed with him, completed the job efficiently, professionally and quickly.  Once the unit was installed he cleaned up after himself and took away the mess.  The unit is working fine.  I have no complaints.  About two weeks later, the first company called be back with an estimate which was $200 more than Tuck & Howell had charged.  I told them to forget it.  I had used them several times before but will not again.  I highly recommend Tuck & Howell."

"SUMMARY: HIGH QUALITY WORK WITH LARGE PRICETAG. Corley plumber arrived on time. Their plumber was polite and offered several options for the repair. The repair was completed correctly and in a timely manner. Work area was cleaned after plumbing work was completed. No problems with the repair since it was completed which was several years ago. In short, I would give them FIVE STARS FOR THE QUALITY OF THEIR WORK. I would hire them again in an EMERGENCY (which is why I hired them for this work; the usual plumbers I use were unavailable), but NOT for non-emergency work. My reason for not wanting to use them for routine work is that their prices were OUTRAGEOUS and I'm not a miser (this is why I removed one star in my rating). The few replacement parts needed would have been nominal cost at a plumbing supply store. That means their labor was $200+/hr for installing compression fit connections which is even easier and quicker than gluing PVC pipes together (no heavy lifting; nothing complicated; easy access to pipes). I've had other plumbing jobs that were too big for me to do. I've found competent plumbers that do a great job (quality like Corley's) for half the price if you are willing to wait a day or two. Lesson: Instant gratification has a high price tag. FYI: They will charge for the cost estimate if you don't have them do the repair."

He offered various units to accommodate my requirement before I decided on the best option. On the day of the installation, he arrived on time, took the necessary safety precautions, did the installation and then walk me through the process of what he performed and showed me the operations. His quality of work (A+) and the cost (A+) met our expectations."

He provided me the potential problem for my heat pump issues on the phone that eventually was confirmed during his initial visit and then during disassembly of the old duct system. "Jim is local.  It went great. Jim Ferrell is a professional of the highest caliber. Responded quickly, took care of my problems, and advised me as to better means of protection than I had. He came back a second time to uninstall software that I purchased that did not provide adequate protections and installed free software that would do the job.  He did the work through remote connection, but is available on site if necessary.
For those people needing help on getting red of malware, viruses , etc. on your computer,  Jim is local, better than all thse remote out of state location providers, is a mature, highly trained professional in this area.
If you go to local computer stores you get very young people that can do a basic job, but are no where near the professional level of Jim.
I highly recommend Jim to anyone that needs these type services.
