"It was perfect! They had to replace butcher block countertops that had been incorrectly installed by another company. They came out and gave an estimate and had samples of wood to choose from and gave options for the installation on the edges, etc. They show up when they are scheduled to for all appointments and they explain what they are going to do and how to care for the counters after installation. Exceptional people to work with!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!"

"This company did a great job on my bathroom remodel. The employees that were sent out were very knowledgeable polite and did great work. My project manager Rick always did a great job with having workers scheduled and on top of the plans for the remodel. I highly recommend Bradley Construction for your new project."

Small jobs welcome

"Brenda and the crew did a fantastic job. They painted three rooms, a hallway, and two bathrooms and the entire ceiling in our home. They covered everything so well, there was no damage to floors or furniture. I am starting a list of projects to have them do this year. The cost was well within our budget. Thank You for a job well done!"

"Surface Bella proved to be an excellent company. Jose Ruiz, Craig, Tito, and Nick were all very attentive to my project, despite many challenges along the way. Kimberly was awesome in keeping me informed of the status/progress of my build. Each of these persons were readily available to me via phone, text, or email. They built me a quality, screened sunroom on an existing deck which is beautiful. This build took longer than expected, BUT only because of Covid related delays in shipping materials."

Woodworking questions, answered by experts

Some states require carpenters to be licensed to perform forms of carpentry, such as framing. The license requires a certain amount of experience and to pass an examination. In states that don’t require carpenters to be licensed, they must be licensed as a contractor if they work independently rather than solely as a subcontractor under a licensed builder. Use Angi’s contractor licensing tool to find out whether a potential carpenter is licensed in your state.

Rustic and modern farmhouse styles are currently the most popular. These include rustic and antique furniture, muted colors, clean lines, eclectic decor, and natural materials. Some other popular farmhouse styles include the following:

  • Coastal farmhouse: Creates a lighter, airier feel with soft colors and blue palettes, along with gold

  • Colonial farmhouse: Focuses on real antique furniture and decor

  • French farmhouse: Leans on French country architecture and design by including marble and lighter-colored metals, like zinc

  • Industrial farmhouse: Includes thick, chunky furniture and dark metals

  • Scandinavian farmhouse: Usually includes lighter wood colors and more refined furniture

Tipping contractors, builders, or general contractors is not customary or expected. Unlike many service professions where tipping is built into the payment structure, construction professionals typically charge a full rate for their services. However, you may choose to tip a worker for exceptional service, such as if they go above and beyond, stay late to meet a deadline, or work on a holiday weekend. Before offering a tip, it's a good idea to ask about the company's policy, as some prohibit their employees from accepting gratuities. If you want to show your appreciation for a job well done without giving a cash tip, consider writing a positive online review or offering to serve as a reference for potential new customers.

Yes, many repair services include blade sharpening as part of the maintenance package.

Hiring a woodworker can be expensive, depending on the job, but it’s very often well worth the investment. Woodworkers are able to provide custom pieces of furniture and handmade construction to present a finished product that is exactly to your specifications. If you have a specific vision for a one-of-a-kind piece of furniture or home feature, the cost of hiring a professional woodworker is worthwhile. Plus, you’ll often get a higher quality product than what you could buy in stores for a fraction of the price.
