"I had an amazing experience with Overall Solutions! They did an exceptional job cleaning my carpet—thorough, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. They took the time to explain the entire process, including the products they use, which gave me peace of mind. My carpet looks brand new, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. "There is a reason this company has such stellar reviews! Their workmanship is above par. We were extremely happy with the results. Our tub and tiles look brand new. Nice, clean, and shiny! The man who did our tub and tiles, was so nice and worked so hard. He arrived on time and got right to work. This man is an asset to your company and I hope these words are passed on to him. And I called Specialized Refinishing several times and had a question for the owner, Will. Every time I called, he was so nice and patient and answered all my questions. Their prices are extremely reasonable too! Great workmanship, super hard worker, wonderful price and an owner, you can actually call, ask for, and talk to! I highly recommend this company. "Sam was very professional. He came and measured for an estimate and provided information on the product he uses. Once I accepted the job he was very courteous of my home and kept mess to a minimum. Floors were sanded done, patched, and epoxy and flaking was done. In all the process took about 3 days, most from the epoxy to cure. The end result is a very beautiful textured floor that looks wonderful and cleans easily!"

Floor Cleaning and Waxing questions, answered by experts

To properly maintain and care for hardwood floors without damaging the finish, establish a regular cleaning routine. Sweep with a broom or microfiber dust mop daily, or vacuum weekly, to remove dirt and debris that can scratch the surface; be sure to clean in tight corners and under furniture. For a deeper clean, use a damp mop with a cleaner specifically designed for hardwood floors, but avoid using harsh chemicals or excessive water, as this can damage the wood. You can further protect your floors by placing mats at entryways to catch dirt and moisture and putting felt pads under furniture legs to prevent scratches. For long-term care, refinish the floors as needed to keep them looking their best.

After carpet removal, prepare for new flooring by assessing the subfloor. You will want to address any imperfections to create a smooth and level base for installation. Remember, proper subfloor preparation is crucial for optimal new flooring results. Consider repairing and replacing damaged areas for a stable foundation. For both wood and concrete subfloors, consider sanding to remove any debris or adhesives remaining thoroughly.

While every professional home cleaner will have their own preference, most will use a commercial floor cleaner specifically manufactured for laminate floors. They will also use a vacuum or microfiber cloth to remove loose grit before breaking out the mop. Some cleaners will also make a final pass with a dry and clean cloth to dry your laminate floors for a smooth shine.

Yes, but with caution. A floor grinder is intended to level and polish concrete, so it is a very powerful tool. To remove paint, the floor grinder should be set to 35 square feet per minute or less to minimize the pressure without the use of pocket weights. You might need to go over the surface two times to get any paint that has sunk into the concrete’s pores.

Steam mops can be a better option than traditional mops because the steam can lift stubborn dirt from floors without using chemicals, and it also kills bacteria and dust mites. However, steam mops have drawbacks: they are more expensive, require an electrical outlet, and are not suitable for all flooring types, such as laminate or hardwood, which can be damaged by the steam.

Regular mopping can also sanitize floors effectively when done with the right cleaning products and techniques, though it may require more effort. The main advantage of a traditional mop is its versatility, as it can be used on any type of flooring. Ultimately, the best choice depends on your floor type, budget, and cleaning preferences.
