"Ron came out the day before to discuss job to be done and to provide an estimate. The next day, Bob arrived on time. He was very knowledgeable, professional and personable. Hard worker. List Included repair of leak in laundry room included opening of wall. All new fittings Installed and the wall was repaired. Valves and floats exchanged in 2 toilets. Aerators replaced on several faucets. Shower arm replaced in master bath and new shower head installed. Shower/tub combo plumbing repaired. New faucet installed in kitchen. All debris was removed and area was left clean. Cost was very reasonable. Have already recommended to my neighbor. Would definitely use again and would definitely recommend to others!! Thank you ?"

"They did a great job, communication was really good, and they got out to fix our sink drain pretty quickly (it wasn't an emergency situation so we were ok with waiting). As of now everything is fixed and no additional leaking is occurring. The only reason I'm not giving all fives is because the plumbers didn't really clean up when they left. A few extra pipes were left a PVC pipe in a bag was left in the middle of the floor and no vacuuming or sweeping was done. Not a big deal it was an easy enough clean to handle. Not sure if that is normal for plumbers since I haven't had to hire one before, but I kind of thought they'd clean up a bit more. Overall the price was great and the job was handled in a timely and professional manner. I would definitely recommend them."

"The project seemed to turn into something unexpected. I have a flush-up toilet that needed a new macerator installed. The pipes were realigned and the macerator installed, but the toilet didn't seem to work right. Their technician Mark immediately went into figuring out what could be wrong. Checking the pipes, analyzing the owner's manual, and calling the manufacturer of the toilet. He ran a few tests and figured out what was wrong. Flush-up toilets are notorious for being difficult, but Mark figured it out. I really appreciate his efforts to resolve this problem. Thanks, Very Satisfied Customer"

"Fast, almost immediate, response to my Project request for bid. Had a ceiling/wall water leak in my downstairs bathroom that they were able to diagnose and resolve within 24 hrs. Very professional, polite, and clean crew who came out the next morning as per my urgent need and was able to identify my upstairs toilet seal as the culprit and resolved. Did a great job cleaning up after themselves as well and I'd look to them again for future projects."

"Zoom Drain was great !! Everything was explained by Rob on Friday when he came out. Service was provided the day we called due to hearing gurgleing in the kitchen sink when the toilet was flushed. Rob found a blockage in the drain box outside our house which he cleared. On Sunday we found that we were still having some brief water backup into our basement laundry tub when the bathroom toilet was flushed, Kyle came out that afternoon and determined that part of the issue was that the Municipal Sanitary Drain was running slow. Kyle even pulled the Municipal Manhole cover in the street to confirm that the water level was much higher than expected. He spent the time to make sure our drain was as clear as possible and even called our local borough office to inform them that the Municipal drain seemed to have a blockage. We saw a truck on our street this morning and were informed that a large grease plug was found in the municipal drain on the street next to ours. They cleared it on Sunday night and were checking the line upstream from where the plug was to make sure everything was clear. Thank You Kyle. Thank you Zoom Drain Norristown. Highly recommended !!"

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Sometimes, your insurance policy may cover leaking toilet repair. However, home insurance policies typically do not cover any plumbing problems. They do cover water damage caused by a busted pipe or a major leak. Some insurance companies also have riders that expand your initial coverage to include plumbing items. Talk to your agent for more information.

Emergency plumbers charge a significantly higher rate than for standard service, typically 1.5 to 3 times the normal hourly cost. You can expect to pay between $100 and $500 per hour, with an average of around $200 per hour. In addition to the higher hourly rate, many plumbers charge a flat emergency service or trip fee, which can be between $150 and $300. The final cost depends on the timing of the call; prices are highest for major holidays, followed by weekends and after-hours service on weekdays. For a complex job on a major holiday, a master plumber's rate could reach as high as $600 per hour.

Yes, a toilet, sink, and shower can share the same vent. This is a common installation method that can simplify plumbing and save space. However, there are important considerations. The vent and associated plumbing must be large enough to handle the demands of all fixtures without compromising the vent's effectiveness. Additionally, the toilet should always be located downstream of all other fixtures. Because requirements can vary and space might be limited, it is essential to check your local building and plumbing codes and consult with a qualified plumber to ensure the installation is done correctly.

There are a few ways to unclog a toilet without a plunger. Break up the clog with homemade solutions containing soap, vinegar, and baking soda, or simply let hot water spend some time in the drain. You can also use a two-liter soda bottle filled with water to push pressurized water into the pipe to dislodge the debris (see the steps above).

Yes, pressure-assist toilets leak, but less often than regular toilets. You might experience leaks from your toilet due to worn-out parts, water pressure in your plumbing that’s too high or low, poor installation, or cracks in your tank. These toilets are harder to fix on your own than gravity-fed ones, so it’s best to call a plumber if you can’t figure out what’s wrong,
