A 3rd generation family owned and operated company. We offer over the countersales of plumbing materials for both residential and commercial plumbing. We are known for having at our disposal the "hard to find" repair part. Additionally, we offer service crews for your plumbing needs, either scheduled based around your schedule or based on emergency if needed. We make every effort to provide service you need the same day. We do not charge extra for the trip nor do we have service diagnostic fees.

"Charged $180 per hour and said it took 5 hours to install a toilet and a faucet. The total bill was over $900 and we supplied the new toilet and faucet. Just the labor was $900!!' It seems to me, if you are charging $180 per hour, you should know how to replace a toilet in less time. Said they would call me back at 8am to discuss and never called back. By the way, this service call was during normal business hours. Not an emergency call, not a weekend call, not an evening call. |"

"Best contractor I've ever used. Reasonable price, polite and responsive, clean up after themselves - everything you want and more. This is the second time we've used them. This was a bigger job than the last and the estimate they gave was the same as we were charged at the end."

When you call for service during regular business hours, your call will be answered by a courteous receptionist. We use an answering service after hours and respond back quickly. Our service technicians are courteous and knowlegable. They aim to keep your house as clean as it was before they walked in (with booties, of course). Our construction crews are familiar with all sorts of plumbing projects from residential to commercial. Projects range from horse barns, dental and doctor offices to very prominent houses. Whether you want a repair, to remodel, or new construction, we are there to meet your needs. Areas include Frederick County and surrounding counties, and West Virginia.

"I had a water leak on a water heater still under warranty - under 4 years - so I called Gladhill who installed the water heater. They came out to replace the water heater and I asked the man when he arrived if all of this is under warranty and he said yes so when to my surprise I received a bill for $500.00 for parts and labor. If the heater was disconnected the correct way they could have used the same parts, but they used all new. As far as I am concerned this is a very underhanded way to treat customers. So I say beware of Gladhill plumbing."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The best practice is to clean the sewer drain lines in your home once a year or every two years. Older homes could require more frequent maintenance. Keeping up on cleaning your sewer lines can prevent severe clogs, help ensure your system is working properly, and prevent expensive repairs.

It is safe to flush small amounts of bleach down the toilet. Don’t flush more than ¼ cup of bleach. Instead, consider diluting it and pouring it down the sink drain.

Bleach isn’t likely to help unclog a sewer line. Bleach isn’t useful in this situation because it won’t dissolve the grime and debris in the clog. Instead, you want to use ingredients that will have a chemical reaction to clear out the buildup, like vinegar or salt and baking soda.

It's advisable to have your sewer line inspected every three to five years to ensure its proper functioning and detect any potential issues early on. However, the frequency of inspections can vary based on factors such as the age of your sewer system, the type of pipes used, and your property's location. If you notice any warning signs like slow drains, foul odors, or sewage backups, it's essential to schedule an inspection promptly, regardless of the regular maintenance schedule.

In most areas, drain cleaning professionals don’t technically need a license, as they aren’t altering your plumbing system in any way. However, we recommend hiring a drain cleaning professional with a plumbing license and certification. Certified plumbers are more likely to provide professional solutions to drain clogs without damaging your system. They’ll also have the diagnostic tools and experience necessary to remove the clog entirely rather than providing a temporary solution, as a handyperson might. Use Angi’s state licensing tool to check your plumber’s professional licenses before hiring.
