"Steven S. Was great. Very nice and knowledgeable. Cost was a bit more than expected but needed to get it done. Most importantly, job done, showed up on time, and left the area very clean. Would hire him again."

"Mr. Burns, the owner, took exceptional care in performing the task and explained up front what he was doing and how much it would cost prior to beginning. He was very polite and cleaned up extremely well after the work was completed. I would recommend him and his company to anyone who wants to have quality work performed. Ronald Bitner"

"Hired James for sump pump installation. We were able to work out a very reasonable price for my installation. Then he got to work right away and finished the job in the morning with the help of a coworker. I checked in periodically but mostly left them to do their job. After the job is completed, he showed me what he did outside the house as well as inside. His work also comes with 90 day replacement warranty. I am quite satisfied with his friendliness, his willingness to reach a deal, and his professionalism. Will continue to hire him in the future."

"I had Tri-County Pumps come and install my water treatment system that I bought. I also needed a new pressure tank for my system. They came and gave me a quote for the installation of the water treatment system (that I already owned) and for the new pressure tank. They came and gave a free estimate. Their prices were exactly what I was looking for in terms of cost. When they arrived to do the install, they were really professional and clean. They did the job quickly and wow did they do a great job. They kept it tight and compact and the location where they installed it was clean. I would highly recommend using this company."

"Woke up this morning to my hvac leaking and contacted Markool. I have never used them before and was in a pinch. They fit me right in this morning and were out at my house within 2 hours. The tech stepped in the door and placed covers for his shoes so he did not track in any dirt which was impressive! The tech was very professional and super friendly. Problem was diagnosed and FIXED within an hour. The price was extremely reasonable to the point I was shocked in a good way (expecting a higher price). Anyways, I will most certainly be a returning customer. Thank you Markool Heating Cooling Plumbing."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The best practice is to clean the sewer drain lines in your home once a year or every two years. Older homes could require more frequent maintenance. Keeping up on cleaning your sewer lines can prevent severe clogs, help ensure your system is working properly, and prevent expensive repairs.

With a one-way cleanout, you can access your sewer line from one direction. Depending on the way it curves, a plumber can either access the side of the pipe that goes into your home or the side that goes to your yard. On the other hand, two-way cleanouts allow pros to access both sides of the sewer line, thanks to their dual-pipe design (they’re usually U-shaped).

Professional tools include drain snakes, hydro jets, cameras for line inspection, and enzymatic or chemical cleaners for dissolution.

It is generally safe to stay in a house that smells like sewage for a short time, but you should get the problem fixed as soon as possible. While the level of sewer gas is usually low enough to only cause minor symptoms, prolonged inhalation can lead to headaches, nausea, or respiratory irritation. High levels of gas exposure can be more dangerous, and high concentrations of methane—a component of sewer gas—can pose an explosion risk in enclosed spaces. If you smell sewer gas in your home, ventilate the area and call a professional to locate, assess, and fix the problem, as it will not go away on its own.

First, find the cleanout pipe in your yard. Unscrew the cap—you may need a wrench to do so. Then, get a drain snake. You can use a non-motorized one, but a motorized snake will make the job a little easier. Feed the snake through the pipe until it reaches the clog. Spin the snake continuously, but don’t try to feed it through the pipe anymore. Keep spinning until you feel it break the clog apart.
