"I called Mark at 6:00 am. He answered the phone himself, gave me a reasonable price, arrived quickly, and caught the squirrel in the bedroom in less than 15 minutes. He humanely removed the squirrel and took him to his own refuge. I will call him immediately if I have another problem. Grade: A++++ I was at work by 9 am!"

"The inspection was done through my home inspector on same date as inspection.  So I was able to get two things accomplished at the same time which is really important during the inspection phase of purchasing a house.  About three months after I moved into my new home, I called on this company again as I thought I  possibly had flying squirrels in my attic.  An appointment was made and kept with effectiveness and efficiency and there was no cost for evaluation.  No squirrels were found."

"I own an older "row home" near Manayunk in Philly, and celebrated my Thanksgiving to the sounds of scrabbling and scampering in my (get this) INACCESSIBLE attic space. Fearing that the squirrels would dig down into my living space, I found AAA Termite and Wildlife through Angie's List and gave them a call the next day. We scheduled an appointment for the next business day. The specialist came out within the time window and quickly identified the squirrels' access point under the eaves of my roof. While I was willing to have AAA cut into my third-floor ceiling to get the buggers out, he just smiled, said he would prefer not to ruin my house, and intalled a "one-way" cage passageway on the outside roof hole. Squirrels exited, couldn't get back in, PROBLEM SOLVED. AAA even came back a week later to remove the "one way" and seal the opening, without me having to make the appointment (I wasn't even home). These guys are pros and really know what they are doing. I think the price could be a bit better (I was relieved that no squirrels - deal or alive - had to be removes, as this would have increased the bill) BUT I gladly paid for the AAA expertise and to have my home be squirrel-free :)"

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

There are a few ways to keep pesky bugs away from your garden. One option you have is to plant flowers so beneficial insects like ladybugs can control pests for you. A similar method is companion planting, which means you’ll grow vegetables that’ll discourage pests, like garlic, onions, and basil. The best pest prevention method will depend on the bugs you have issues with and the plants in your garden.

There are DIY methods and store-bought pesticides available for the public to use. However, these pesticides also come with a risk, and you need to follow the directions correctly and take precautionary measures to prevent exposure to these chemicals. These methods may be an option for small pest problems, but you should call in a pest control specialist for persistent pests and infestations.

Finding a dead bat in your home can be frightening, even during spooky season. The United States Department of Interior states that if you find a dead bat, take these steps:

  • Contact your state wildlife agency to report the finding

  • Photograph the bat safely to help the wildlife agency determine the species

  • Use disposable gloves to place the bat into a plastic bag, making sure to spray with disinfectant and close the bag securely

  • Thoroughly clean your hands and any clothing that came into contact with the bat

If you see one dead bat, you might have a large bat infestation that needs to be treated immediately. Call a local pest control company to properly inspect your home for other bats.

If a wild animal enters your yard, prioritize safety for yourself and the animal. Remember to avoid direct contact and always keep a safe distance. Contact local authorities or a wildlife rehabilitation center if the animal is hurt or in distress. Both sources should be able to guide you on how to proceed and send help if needed. Please wait for the animal to leave naturally for non-threatening situations, as many will. To deter future visits, implement measures like securing trash cans, sealing entry points, and removing potential food sources.

The best time of year to remove bats is autumn until spring. In fact, many states have restrictions on bat removal, mandating it to start sometime in August and go up until May. For some states, the removal period stops in March. Your pest control pro should know of any restrictions and can help you pick an optimal time for removal.
