"Steve is A-mazing. The care and attention to detail is like nothing I have ever seen before. My new backsplash looks fabulous. He made sure everything lined up and the cut around the window ledges are a work of art. Wish I had found him a decade ago. Have lined up at least 3 additional project him. Wish there were more stars. Definitely recommend him."

Customers say: Super punctual

"Oh my gosh...HIRE ITALIO!  Don't even look at any one else because he is A-MAZ-ING.  You will not be disappointed because he is one in a billion and is craftsmanship is par excellance!  He is thorough, professional, personable, funny and so enjoyable to converse with.  I sat in our kitchen and bathroom just looking at our tile after he completed it.  I coudl not stop looking at it.  His work is flawless. Our bathroom has not looked this good, EVER!  Our kitchen looks like a chef's ktichen.   His cost was resonable and his tile work exceptional.  He even needed to do a bit of repair and like the true professional he is, it was done with care. Italio is an exceptional contractor and I know we will have him back sooner than later to do some more in our kitchen. My husband is talking to him now about some pointing work that needs to be done on a chimney!  CALL NOW!  You will love him and his work.

"Anthony was excellent!  He actually drove me to the tile place so I could pick out my tile.  He did extra work and installed sheet rock because one of my walls had water problems.  He's professional but has wonderful "people skills".  He's a great guy I would highly recommend and will use again.

"Diego did an incredible job on our shower! We had to replace the floor and deep clean & seal the surrounding slate. Diego was detailed oriented, and generally great to have in our home. Would highly recommend ADJ construction and we will absolutely use Diego & his team again"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Travertine is a natural stone, while porcelain is ceramic. You can enjoy the best of both worlds with porcelain travertine tiles. Some people prefer porcelain to travertine because it doesn’t require regular maintenance and it’s easier to clean. Porcelain travertine looks like the real thing but only costs $3 to $6 per square foot.

Terracotta tile is a broad term for clay tile that’s been fired in a kiln, and Saltillo tile is a specific type of terracotta tile produced in Saltillo, Mexico. In addition to Saltillo, terracotta tile comes in a range of other shades and styles. You’ll often find it used in buildings throughout Mexico, southern Europe, and the western United States.

It’s possible to walk on a clay tile roof, but you run the risk of breaking or cracking the tiles if you’re not careful, so it’s best not to walk on it if you can avoid it. If you or a contractor needs roof access, be sure to distribute your weight evenly and step on the portions of tile that are also supported underneath, which depends on your tile design. Walking on any roofing material is inherently dangerous, so wear rubber-soled shoes and use safety equipment if you need to access your roof.

The grout shade you choose comes down to personal taste and preference. A darker grout will give you a more dramatic and noticeable contrast with the tile around it; however, lighter grout helps create a more uniform look when blending the colors together. Additionally, a darker grout combined with a patterned tile could be overwhelming to the eye, while lighter grout makes the pattern stand out as the main focus.

Glazed ceramic tiles don’t need to be sealed because the glazing already offers some protection against moisture. Unglazed ceramic tiles need to be sealed to keep the porous tile safe from moisture and staining. However, both types of tile can benefit from sealing. Sealant can make the tiles easier to keep clean and offer more resistance to water, spills, and stains.
