"When my previous tankless water heater died two days before Christmas, I needed a solution fast. Using a wire stripper/cutter, strip about 1/2 inch to 1 inch of sheathing from electric wires, depending on the application.   • Prevents carbon monoxide poisoning: keep at least 15 feet between your generator and an open window. 

Grounding an electrical outlet can take as little as 30 minutes if you only need to replace the outlet or around two hours if you need to add a ground wire. However, more extensive electrical work will take longer, such as hiring an electrician to ground multiple outlets during the same service.
