After the job was complete, I found I still didn’t have power in the wall. Now I’m being told it is a separate job and cost. An explanation before having the work done about it being a separate problem and needing additional work would have been very helpful. All I’m told now is they can come out for a service call which is $212 plus whatever the issue is. This was a miscommunication error on Mr. Electrics side. I informed the tech about the problem and there was no testing on the wall afterwards. Very disappointed."

Yes, Christmas lights on a timer are just as safe as any other Christmas lights are. Most fires caused by holiday lights are due to damage to the strings of lights themselves or from too many lights being plugged into one circuit.
